My lugormod server

For those of you who don´t know (I didn´t either until a few weeks ago), Lugormod is a mod made by Lugor :P that has it´s main feature the possibility to level up in 2 professions, Jedi/Sith or mercenary, by collecting stashes of credits(money) arround the map.
Like many action-rpg games, the level up part is addictive and very fun, and combining that with a game like Jedi Academy where you have so much freedom to move arround instead of clicking and poiting, makes a very unique experience.
Lugormod also has other features, such as scripted commands, npc and vehicle spawners, scripted console commands, desann stance, scripted events, grappling hooks and more, including the possibility to reach rank 5 in force powers instead of the usual 3 we are used to.

I've decided to make my own Lugor server because either I didn´t like the maps of the other servers, or how the admins handled things. Most of those maps have teleporters all arround so you can easily reach any place, which I don´t like, so I decided to give my map a more realistic and "world" feel.

The history is that during a battle between rebels and imperials regarding fleeing cargo ships, a number of those while trying to escape got caught by a heavy Ionosphere covering a small planet, jamming their systems and communications along with the imperial and rebel troops that chased them, causing them to be stuck and forgottem, without means of getting out.
Understanding they could not survive in the inhospitable land if open war was declared, a fragile truce was accepted by both factions.
In secrecy, hidden bases were created so they could administer the limited resources the planet had to offer away from curious eyes.
The resources, which are originally money stashes from lugor system, can be found in specific places like jungles, forests or rivers.

This stash hunt offers some variety to JA compared to other gametypes. Here, instead of speed like in CTF or oppression like in siege, it´s a lot more hide and seek, with ambushes, sniping and defending the stash deposit machines.

Well, that is enough for an overlook of the features it has to offer. If you play on the map, you will do a lot of ship, tauntaun and swoop bike riding, and can visit the landscape including the rebel and imperial camps, a neutral trading market, and the remains of a gone civilization, with a few hidden items that can be found.
The map used is T2_trip, where using the lugormod commands I added many entities and scritps. Every decision I took was carefully thought to make it balanced in relation to the two faction camps.

Well, the problem is I live in Brazil, and there is no way the server will be succesfull if I host it due to high ping from everyone else.
So I'm looking for someone who is interested in playing and hosting the map I created, and has the means to do it.
If all goes well, I will keep adding more things to the map, incudling more complex scripts and hopefully a new credit earning game if I can pull it off.
If anyone is willing to give it a try, let me know :)
Thanks!

All right, I have rented a server, and if all goes well I'll have the server running for as long as I can.
It´s 24/7, and the IP is 216.86.145.192:29070
Once you join, type /help, as the motd will tell you to, and you'll see a lot of commands you can use. The first one you want to do is /regnick <password>, then login and chose a profession.
/profession 1 is jedi/sith, profession 2 is mercenary.

Currently there is a situation I have to solve, I need to make a placeable that will spawn swoops so nobody runs out of transport, but that will only take me a day.

Well, I fixed an exploit I found and added a few things, the server is now ready to be played.
I tried hosting it, but because of something with my adsl people can see the server, attempt to join and then they will time out.
It doesn´t need to be a 24/7 host for now, a few hours a day would be good for a start. If anyone is curious, I can send you the files so you can try it out and make a decision.

Uhm, renting a server is a possibility, but dollars are like 2 or 3x our currency, and euros 3x to 4x, depending on the time. So it´s acutally very expensive for me, I would have to split with 3 or more people.
Regardless of price, I don´t think I will consider renting a server for now. If the server takes off, gathering a good community, I would give more structure to it by making a website and forums, and finding a good way to host it, but right now is more of a testing :)

I would say rent a server, you can do it for fairly cheap now.

I was in a JK2 clan that used BFG, the clan admin loved them.

the other site I know nothing about but they are cheaper :)

So assume a cost of like $30, see if one person will split the 1st month with you, so that would only be $15/each. Then see how it goes from there.

good luck
