Star Wars Galaxies Shutting Down
We write to you today to inform you that on December 15, 2011, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) and LucasArts will end all services (MMO and Trading Card Game) for Star Wars Galaxies (SWG). The shutdown of SWG is a very difficult decision, but SOE and LucasArts have mutually agreed that the end of 2011 is the appropriate time to end the game. LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment today announced the release of Chapter 8: The Nova Orion Crisis to Star Wars Galaxies subscribers, featuring a host of new content set in the farthest reaches of space, including new quests, collections and a heroic encounter. They have not changed the combat, other than adding in new changes to stealth, and commando. They have made Jedi more viable as a combat proffesion also. There is talk of re-implementing Decay, which would help crafting a lot. A recent addition is the new player bounties feature, meaning killing someone in PVP may mean you get a bounty on your head and you could be hunted. Hey jo I play as Xann on flurry. Anyway, the nge is still fun. Pvp does still take skill and pub 27 looks to bring some good changes. Jedi hasn't been nerfed a lot.... removing decay really slowed down crafting, but it did speed up combat. |

this was my favourite game was a jedi PRE CU which was a long time ago, everyone thought they would screw the game with CU but it turned out ok, everyone believed the same abotu the NGE but hell they smacked us from behind on the NGE, i wasnt so pissed about the NGE so much except for they didnt tell you about it yet they released Trials of Obi Wan about a week before even telling people about the NGE, if i knew, i wouldnt of brought Trials Of Obi Wan. For now i havent logged in for sometime, when i do i just go to talk to friends in the Guild and such, my Crafter is useless now and my jedi nerfed beyond belief ( used to be able to solo run the avatar and Corvette with my Jedi ) but hey i keep my account active incase they do eventually see the error's of their ways and rollback.
