Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
totally awesome. i loved how the movie used a little different approach to a quite popular theme of serial killers. its like a fairy tale, but with a little violence lol. i really recommend renting it if anyone didnt see it before _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. In Bruges.
A very funny film if you like black comedy. Colin Farrell is fantastic, as is Ralph Fiennes, it wavers in places where the plot gets a little convoluted but some of the set pieces make up for that. I finally watched Heat last night. Utterly fantastic film from start to finish. Though with that cast and director why wouldn't it be?
Al Pachino and Robert De Nero are awesome. Lately I have also seen: Hellboy 2: Loved the first one, and loved this one even more. Oddball comic book story with some great humour and action sequences. Del Toro does it again. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor: Actually not bad, if you like light heared action adventures and/or are a fan of the seris its worth watching. A good solid, fun film that kept me entertained. Run Fatboy Run: A fun British comedy, plots a little thin but works. Simon Pegg and Dylan Moran stand out in a film with plenty of laughs. The Clone Wars: Much better than I thought it would be. Its obviously aimed at a younger audience than the films, but in some ways works better for that rather than sneaking in Ewoks or Jar Jar into a more mature plot. Ahsoka and the Huttling are not abnoxious or annoying (well, mainly), and the plot works despite being a bit on the thin side. I also rate the voice acting, with Matt Lanter doing a good job with Anakin Skywalker. Lastly I really liked those times when it dipped into more adult moments, such as the foreshadowing and darkness of Anakin's return to Tatooine among others. The score here really raises itself to the occasion and in my opinion is some of John Williams finest work on Star Wars. It has real variety, such as the mysterious choral sounds of the monastry, or the stand out homage to the Episode IV cantina - replete with Bith jazz band. Worth watching if you are a Star Wars fan, or like light hearted kids films in general. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? Whatever.. the bus was put there by mooze hunters.. they used it as some kind of lodge to stay over while they are trekking around hunting for moozes.
he survived for 5 damn months lol.. even tho he ended up with food poisoning.. this movie isn't just about a guy who hikes to alaska and tries to survive there.. it's way more then that.. just a shame that you cannot appreciate it. but oh well.. everyone has its own likings :p. _______________ The eternal quest for purpose. my art portfolio: www.redbubble.com/people/pellinore This comment was edited by Pellinore on Aug 26 2008 04:23pm. |

Into the wild is the best movie i ever saw, its both mind opening and touching.
The main character was such a dumbass. I am sorry he shouldn't try that crap if he doesn't know basic survival skills. That is pretty much what ruined the movie for me. Dude, the movie was based on a guy in real life, who did go to alaska and who did died there, but he did had alot of degrees in surival when he was in college (look up some articles about him), he wasn't a dumbass, maybe he was a idealist who wanted to get away from society, and yes, maybe he was a dreamer, but i personaly recognise alot of him in myself, if i could i would have gone away from society a long time ago, i dig this guy for actually doing it. edit: And irl he did survive for like 5 months, in the middle of nowhere.. with only one bag of rice.. damn, i would like to see a guy without any knowledge of survival do that. wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_McCandless Well he pretty much gave up after the river became to dangerous to cross. However, did he even try to look for a road? No, he didn't...A bus didn't just drop from the sky... Also, any idiot who has taking a little bit of biology in high school or college should be able to use a plant catalog properly. This comment was edited by Tallepyon on Aug 26 2008 07:00am. |
