I hate these retrospective movies, ST: Enterprise was never a success because it only introduced some of the things that we ST fans take for granted: transporters, warp drive, first contact etc. I didn't like the series because it lacked strong characters and the general feel there usually is to ST, which is, naturally, hard to explain. Star Trek at its best is how it reviews humanity and draws analogies to both terrible and good things from our own past. Enterprise was all about "how things came to be" but it failed to inspire since it never solidified its premise after which it could have tackled the aforementioned issues. As for the upcoming movie, I'm definitely expecting it and will run to the theatres as soon as it's released, but without Shatner as Kirk and Nemoy as Spock I expect it won't be worth the watch. I would have hoped they'd make a movie of what happened after the DS9 finale or some sort of reunion show with characters from DS9, Voyager and The Next Generation. What I most would have hoped, of course, would have been another TNG movie, but unfortunately Nemesis left little to dwelve on, unless someone would really pay $10 to see how Riker fares on his first command or how Picard spends his retirement in France. However, I hope the franchise will go on strong and they'll someday introduce a new series, one that will continue in the fashion of all previous ST series in posing questions to all of us about how we review humanity and our respectively chosen lifestyles.
