YIKES! Military! *update 6.4.2007* IT'S OVER!!!

Yes!

Most of you prolly know, but to those who I haven't got around to telling yet, and to those who I've forgot about: It's time for me to join ze military. This of course means that I wont be (even semi)active in the JA anymore. It will be a leave of either 6, 9, or 12 months. I know for sure in a couple of months.

I will be home during every third weekend, give or take one, and will probably hop on IRC and MSN, heck maybe even the servers.

I'll be joining the Finnish Marines on monday the 10th of July, 2006. I'll probably update this thread with comments along the way, about how it's going etc. Like a diary for you JA ppl.

I want to thank all you guys for the splendid fun I've had over the last 2½ years, and it's by no means ending now. This is just a temporary break from it. I expect a lot of things to change during my absence, and I want to say farewell to whoever will leave us during this time. Cheers and hf! Big love to all of ya! <3<3

IT'S OVER!!!!!!!!!

Feelings are mixed and strong, don't know what to say other than thank you!

Had the greatest party ever last night with the guys, and now only the hangover remains to remind me of it. I hereby announce I'm officially back from the military and not going back anytime soon.

Hope to see you guys on the servers and chat with those I have lost touch with during the last 9 months. Holla if ya see me.

I think this will be my second to last update on this thread and I hope I can express myself as good as last time.

10 days left. Man that feels awesome.

It's really getting hectic with all of us realising that it's inevitable and really really close for us to join the civillian life. I'm sure all of us only have positive memories from this place and many of us will carry traits over to their everyday life. I think some of the strengths I will take with me are a more mature attitude towards everything (don't worry, the crazy bald guy will still lives inside me

). And I've also learned to show a great deal of respect to people, their beliefs, and common things I used to take for granted (I think I wrote about that in the last update too).

Spring has hit Finland and it's really nice weather outside, it's almost as if someone up there smiles on us and rewards us for serving our time in the military. Hopefully the rest of the summer will be as great. I'm really filled with energy and the weather sure boosts it up.

I can't really think of anything else to say since I'm in a bit of a hurry, but I wish all the best to all you guys. Hope we meet soon.

Time for an update methinks...

Well, here we are once again. All is going well and the end of my military career is closing in. When I'm writing this I'm just 29 days away from being sent home, permanently.

This makes me have kind of mixed feelings, on one hand I'm glad to finally return to my 'normal' life and seeing the people I care about the most, more often than I've had the chance. And I've learnt to appreciate people and things I used to take for granted and I think I will enjoy life a lot more, the small things you know.

Even the JA comes in the picture here, you guys made many of my weeks in the military a lot easier by hanging out with me the internet-way on my holidays. I want to thank all of you and at the same time announce my return to the JA as a fulltime member (well, as much as RL can give way).

On the other hand, I feel kind of sad and depressed. Leaving a place that has become a second home for me, all the friends I've made, all the good and fun things we've done. They will all fade away in memories and it's sad in a way. I realise that it has been an experience beyond most others, and best it remains as a good memory instead of me getting too fed up with it.

But this is a good time in my life, things are moving, I have completed my studies and will start working once I get home. I've already got a couple of job-interviews set up for the week after the week I get home, I'm sure I'll find something sooner or later.

With fresh winds pushing me around in a storm of RL™, I hope I land safely and have the time to enjoy your company as long as the JA stands. You guys are the greatest!

A guy who i work with used to be a Marine. He's MASSIVE. He's told me so many of his stories, i find them fascinating. Fought out in Kuwait in the 1990 Gulf War, the Jungles of Belize too, Ireland (at the height of the IRA)...

Hi there dudes and dudettes!

Still going strong in the marines. Not really any worries at all, we have more sparetime on the brigade and the new recruits just arrived on monday last week. So now we 'oldbies' are pretty much doing everything on our own.

It's great and all, but we have a lot more responsibility now, and that ofcourse requires more discipline from us. So far so well though.

Good thing is that I get to come home tomorrow and I have 'til sunday to chill some and see friends and take care of some bank-matters etc. Today we're going to storm a five-floor apartment complex, and I predict that's going to be awesome.

I hope all of you are well and that I have some time to catch up with you guys during the weekend.

And btw Johan, it's TJ78 today.

Well I got lucky and got back home on the 19th so last tuesday. Been online on JK3 Home two times already, weeeeird rusty feel to it.

Anyways, I'll be home until the 2nd of January so you guys have plenty of time to catch me for a duel, chat, or both in the near future.
