i tought it was pretty stupid in episode 3 when order 66 was sent out and only yoda could tell the difference i mean there were loads of clone troopers all thinking the same thing at the same thing you would hav thought that the huge change would hav been noticed by many of the masters and would of been able to escape but oh well =/ kinda sucks tho _______________ Is back and badder then ever |

It would seem impossible on paper with thousands of Jedi serving at the time. However Palpatine managed it. We know little of the 'Purge' Era, between III and IV, however it seems that few true Jedi Masters survived the purge, as many were acting as Generals in the Clone Wars and were promptly taken out in Order 66. The two most well known survivors of that were Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, although Quinlan Vos also survived nothing is known of what became of him. Most of the other surviving jedi were apprentices or Knights, and even those Masters that did survive did not have the ability, power, or leadership to bind all the surviving jedi into a cohesive unit to combat the new Empire and to hide from their hunters. Those that did band together either survived in hiding or were rooted out through treachery and the darkside etc. Saz also makes a good point that after the fall of the Republic, the Empire (and thus the Sith) took control of all the Republic (and i believe the now defeated CIS) forces and utilities. This meant that it had a huge standing army, the strongest and largest fleet in the galaxy, and all the worlds previously under the banner of the Republic and CIS. It did not help the Jedi that after the attempt on Palpatine's life they were branded as traitors and hated by the general public, there were of course people that remembered the true jedi however much of the galaxy was convinced that they were traitors. There are Jedi that went into hiding and whose legacy continues after Episode VI, also its not unlikley that the player will be given the choice of playing as a dark character, or even Darth Vader himself especially considering one peice of concept art shows Vader killing wookiees. A good example of a jedi that survived the purge is Qu Rahn from Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. He survived the purge only to be killed by Jerec not long after ROTJ. Another example is the camassi Ylenic Itkla however he died during Alderaan's destruction. The only problem with that theory, is that several art sources feature Darth Vader, this goes with the persistant rumours that a Darth Vader action game is in the works. Personally i am betting it will be set between III and IV, that is one period Lucas' various companies are focusing on right now the jedi purge, the upcoming live action tv show is going to be set then as well. Further evidence was that some of the stormtroopers had coloured stripes on their armour remenisant of Clone Troopers. Seems to me the timeframe would have to be post-episode VI. There are stormies, and I don't recall any of the jedi having force powers like that in episode 3.(or any of the movies). Most sources believe it will be a 360/PS3 only game, tho we don't know for sure.
