Don't know if you've heard of it, but...

From the 14th to the 19th of this merry month, I have been at a Christian festival near Shepton Mallet in Somerset called Soul Survivor.

Let me tell you this, it was one of the most momentous and life-changing experiences I have had.

There were music gigs, movies, cafés, a food court, a shopping mall and field upon field of tents.

Approximately 11,000 people attended this festival and it was refreshing to be around so many fellow Christians, all with similar points of view on their faith. And the meetings were fab.

At 11:00am and 7:00pm loads and loads of fellow Christians attended a meeting for some worship and prayer, and a dash of crazed singing and dancing. But this is were it gets amazing.

Mike Pilavachi prayed for the Holy Spirit to come down and heal the attendees, and as he did, those that were praying went into a trance, some started to cry, others laugh, others twitch madly and others "speaking in tongues.". To be honest, If God does not exist, what would cause that in so many people? And that reinforced my faith in the Lord Almighty.

The atmosphere was phenomenal. You could almost feel the energy coursing through us all during worship. And quite often the band leading the worship were drowned out by the singing of the congregation.

And, here are some numbers for you.

Over 1000 people became Christians in that week, and 173 in one day. Fantastic.

Onto the seminars. On certain times, 9:00am, 2:30pm, and 4:00pm, seminara were held about understanding God and his plan for us in this world. One of them, about being a child of divorce (which I am) brought up a lot of pain and painful memories that I had repressed during the time I've been alive, about the reasons for the split and how they affected me. But God, through that told me that I must make peace with myself and with my parents for this split, as I have a lot of repressed anger, most likely as a result of that. And God also told me that I have to forgive certain people who have wronged me, and also to ask forgiveness.

And after this event, I feel a sort of peace inside, as if the chaos that was usually there has been pacified. And it feels awesome.

The people I went with were amazing. Simon and his sarcastic and dry sense of humour kept me chuckling through the rainy days. Natalie, Maria and Adam, were great, I had lots and lots of fun, and love being around them. Merylen was awesome, after the divorce seminar she was there to serve as a shoulder to cry on and give me some well-needed advice. Pray.

Best week of my life.

That's a good thing ;) :D

It's quite funny, we were at the top of the hill in Brown 3, and you were down in Green, bottom of the hill! Unlucky :P

Oh yeah, Mike's Yellow Submarine :D:D:D

Our youth leader brought back his christmas CD, we got to about the 4th song before headaches were reported. :P

We were situated on Green 7, so all the water kept going for us! :P

Remember Mike's prophetic evangelism comment?

"And the Lord says to you...Meow."

Truth be to the motivation. I have an irrepressible urge to run around proclaiming Christianity! :D

I WAS THERE!?!?!?! Darn you! You didn't tell me :( Was amazing!

Now to read the rest of your post...

Edit (after finishing reading post)

The week was amazing, I'll agree with you on that. I had a great time, God spoke to me and moved me in a number of ways and I just came away feeling so uplifted and even more motivated than usual to do something!

What campsite were you on? I was stuck up at Brown 3... furthest campsite away from Big Top :( Long walks! However, it is on the hill, so when everyone else was getting flooded, we weren't :D

Ahh, good times :) Only 51 weeks until Soul Survivor 2007 :D

On a final note... Yellow Submarine was hilarious.
