Who do u think was the most left out of the movies? This is up for any discussion and any person, like yaddle or Tarfolk (i think that was chewies wookie friend from episode III that Yoda knew), Shak Tii, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Kit Fisto, Ploo Koon, Master Vos, The Quenn's Guards, Aayla Secura, just to mention a few to get u guys started on this post, but in my opinion if u have seen the deleted seen in episode III where they actually show Senator Organa, and many others talking in a room about the rebellion if anything was to go bad in the near future!:): just talk about any characters that u thought were left out of the movies to much!:cool:i even thought that mace windu was a great character but when u hire some1 that is well know like Samuel L. Jackson is u should have made him a bigger part of the movies he was in, like episode I they could have had him in more than two scenes (the council part where he was testing anakin to see if he was ready, and the scene where they showed the celebration at the end and quigons funeral thing), it didnt have to be an action role just have him more involved in another couple 3 minute scenes or something, u know he was the strongest Jedi ever and yet he only killed 1 person(i think jango fett was a person not a clone), and that was it they just portrayed him as such a strong jedi but they didnt have him do to much, like even showing him take on some battle droids would have been very fun to watch i think!:)

I realise that the name Coruscant first appeared in Zahn's novel - but the idea of a city planet being the home of the Empire was first coined during the development of Return of the Jedi.

The history behind the creation of Coruscant is irrelevant, however, as I think you misread my post. Perhaps I should've been more clear: as I stated previously, I feel Lucas should be grateful with the wealth of material that Star Wars has spawned. He has obviously used expanded material and included it in his official films, and more power to him for doing so. Nevertheless, the information that has not made the transfer to the big screen is not canon and shouldn't be considered as fact. Your example doesn't apply because Coruscant is mentioned countless times in official material. That the origin of the name has spawned from the expanded universe is irrelevant - it's official because Lucas made it so, not because it first appeared in a book. :)

I disagree. Star Wars, to the vast majority of people, is whatever Lucasfilm has released. The old trilogy, the new trilogy, the cartoons and possibly the new television series fall under this definition. The expanded universe as depicted in games and novels does not.

That is not to say the material should be excluded - on the contrary, I feel Lucas should be grateful his universe has inspired so many gifted authors. But Star Wars is not more than the films these days. Star Wars is the films. The rest is all expanded material that sometimes exceeds the quality of the originals - but is extrapolated nonetheless. These novels or games are not released as mainstream material. They're supplements. To take this material and tell everyone to accept it is folly in itself; after all, one look at the sales figures will verify that the mainstream audience outnumbers the expanded one by a factor of thousands.

I'd definitely go with Plo Koon. There were a couple books he was in, and man, he was crazy. I also really liked Kit Fisto, he was one of my favorite Jedi dudes. I've read a couple books that he was in and he was way too cool of a character to have just been left out the way he was.

I think Plo Koon should have said a line or two. I always wondered what his voice sounded like through that filter. Even take that stuff off once to see if he even has a mouth! Then I could forgive him for not speaking. :P

I strongly disagree, star wars is much more than the films these days, and to discard anything not seen in the films is folly in the extreme. I'm still hoping to see some Quinlan in the upcoming live action series...

Edit: Oh and to answer the original question: I would of just liked to see more characters appear, and be developed throughout the films, this is mainly a problem with the PT, the OT had a much more varied and overal interesting cast of characters in my opinion.

The problem with the prequels was that they took away the element of mystery which made original characters like Boba Fett cool in the first place.

I think they should have left out Fett or introduced him in a different more mysterious way. I would have like the Wookies left out too.

I like the fact that they stayed away from developing too many characters (such as the Jedi).
Ki Adi Mundi was perfect, he talked a couple lines, was seen in action a bit, but wasn't overdone.

Although interesting in many ways, the prequel flounders in it's story telling because it is weaved together to be overly explanatory in the effort to link the two trilogies.

I like the prequel, but it made concessions by bridging every gap. Lucas bowed to the fans, but it was to the detriment of what it could have been.

The way the prequel was made, I don't think any other characters should have been fluffed. Sideline characters belong in comics, books, games, etc.

Mon Mothma (deleted) and all of the Jedi Council. Particularly Aayla Secura, Plo Koon, Shaak Ti (who actually was in the movie, all her scenes were deleted because they didn't happen), and Kit Fisto.

Ki Adi Mundi actually does speak. The others don't.
