Router question | |

Hey guys,
My dad's put this setting on the router whereby it cuts the internet off during certain times and then allows it during others. He says I'm "too dumb" and won't be able to figure it out myself as there is a way to prevent it without logging into the router's IP settings and changing it like that. Maybe I am too stupid, hence my question here But yeah, anybody got any ideas? If you need any information about anythin', just say _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world |

Constructive. Quote: Yes I think you should be a good little boy and listen to your father for several reasons. If you demonstrate maturity and understanding you can probably find compromise to have the internet on at times that will allow you to be on it more or even increase the time it is on. If you attempt to circumvent it and get busted then say bye bye to any time on the computer.
Not constructive. <3 Klaude. Cuzza, can you get hold of the model number please? Yes because not listening to your parents when you live in their house, under their rules, when they could easily restrict your access even more is obviously the good thing to do. Recommending that you act like an adult with your parents and try to discuss things maturely and reasonably with them in an effort to compromise so you'll have their approval in being on more, and pointing out that if you take the childish way and get caught you'll possibly wind up even further restricted, is no help at all. Solitude, I'm betting what I said didn't even enter Cuzza's mind before deciding on what to do. He never considered acting maturely, and he never thought that what he's trying to do could wind up hurting him even more. Sorry, I must have forgotten to tell you that I've been acting maturely for 7 months now. Must have slipped my mind. What you don't understand is the fact that it's not being restricted because I'm being naughty, it's just my dad being too plain arkward! Basically, I can't do my homework until 7pm. So what do I do for three hours beforehand? It gets dark at like 5 now, so it's pointless playing any sort of sport. I go the gym and/or swimming every day so excercise isn't a problem. _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world |

That's more time I had to be online when I had limits placed on me and that was on dialup so it was spending a lot of time waiting for websites to load. Excuse me if I don't feel sorry for you at all.
Greed: a selfish and excessive desire for more of something (as money) than is needed. You want more of something (computer time) than what is really needed because you think you deserve it (selfish desire). I'm done here. But when you get taken down a peg for your antics remember that I told you so. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill. I come home, do all my homework, all my chores and the internet will only go on at 7pm then go off at 10:30pm. That is utter bull. Happened to me as well when I was in high school. Yes that's true.
Happened to me when I lived at home. We didn't have that sort of thing so my father couldn't make us stay off the comptuer he just told us that we could play at certain times. And of course I played whenever I could anyways. So my father cut off the internet entirely. So be happy you at least get to use the computer. |

Demonstrating your complete lack of understanding by attempting to use my own words, how expected. Different situation and different circumstances. I'm not insulting for something you had already apologized for. And my advice is helpful. Don't do something stupid that could potentially reduce your time allowed on the internet.
Don't blame me when you lose you computer priveleges because you acted like a greedy little kid who won't listen to his parents. The next time you feel the need to bring your thoughts to a discussion, don't. You've helped in no possible way and your response was wrong for any potential situation. 1meg. Can't get any higher where I live Quote: Cuzza - do you know what password your dad uses for stuff? If so, you just need to know your router's gateway (like mine is 192.168.1.1), enter the password, and change the settings I would imagine. I'm not certain about this and am probably wrong, although that's how you set internet restrictions on mine, and also I am not necessarily suggesting that you do this, because as Buzz says, might make the situation worse with going behind his back etc BUT at the same time, sounds like your dad is challenging you to try lol I don't know.
