It'd be funnier if it weren't true.

Jade has already posted a link to an article about LA's upcoming plans. Star Wars '07 and addons to swg will be their big focus for star wars this year. So there may be the possibility for that game to be released on wii, it wouldn't be able to use the full range of capabilities since they're likely planning it for other systems as well.

swg a big focus rofl :P

But yeah from what i have seen LA seem to be releasing mainly smaller stuff in '07, unless they have anything big hidden up their sleeve. As for the next biggun (Star Wars next gen/force unleashed or whatever) details will probably start dribbling out in the new year, with either a big trailer or playable demo at e3, i would imagine they are aiming at an end of '07 release for it, no sooner, as it seems it will tie into the Dark Times project Lucas has cooked up, and the big tv show isn't out until '08 i believe?

Still i'll be happy to be proven wrong.

correct - i have heard its starting filming/production next year - so a possibility of end 2007/ start of 2008 ^.^

...just not necessarily the next e3...

Agreed. LucasArts is one of those companies that doesn't allow themselves to be tied down to normal time schedules like Blizzard or Bungie or whatever. LA knows that they have a huge fanbase that will eat up anything and everything they come out with simply because it has the words "Star" and "Wars" on the front. They have the freedom to wait and do things at their own pace.

Now, mind you, in my opinion, an E3 release would be beneficial. With the new E3 being focused more on the press and less on the crowds, LucasArts can come up with a solid demo to show to the press (and special peoples who can actually go) who then, in turn, show it to us.

My guess...the next game won't be out until November 2007...and even then, it might just be a release date projection during that time period.

At E3 Lucasarts had said they were very interested in doing a game for wii. Its not a question of if, its a question of when. I wouldn't be at all shocked to be seeing something at the next E3. Probably won't happen but I won't be surprised.

you..contradicted..yourself..but yeah - i can see one on it, just not with swing saber swing your wiimote style action XD

No I didn't.

To be honest what they were doing is not that different to how the Wii is used for games at the moment... Just less controlled because they are not using it to play an actual game. You would still use 'saber swing wiimote style action' to play any star wars game on the Wii that featured the lightsword in question.

Oh and yeah i agree with Buzz, i heard about them mentioning their interest at the last e3 and i can see it being a project implemented before long, just not necesarily the next e3, it all depends on how confident they are about coding for the Wii, and possibly how succesful the Wii is in a few months time.

If they were to make a lightsaber-em-up for the Wii, of the games currently released it would more likely resemble Red Steel in swordplay, after all does Zelda on the gamecube play the same way as JK2? However its my opinion that LA won't make a Saber game for the Wii until more people have experimented with that type of gameplay, they would probably want the controls refined as much as possible, and to know what dosn't work in that sort of game etc. etc.

The sword fighting would be good - but unless they slow it down the blasters would be Impossible to block - and thus they would have to make a different system, and even though i would love to do this.. when you look at the star wars selection of games, apart from maybe one or two parts, LA isnt very experiemental with game systems..

1337 has a new meaning. Anything related to the Wii is awesome...

Now imagine a game that works like that. The force-power demo that previewed a while back anyone?
