I used to play galaxies before I shipped out for the Marines about a year ago. I have to say it is a good game...for a while.
It got extremely boring extremely fast, and I didn't think it was worth the cash when I had other things to invest my time in to. Not many people play it anymore either because of how old and under-advertised it is. just go with the flow man on SWG almost every MMORPG has his changes, such as WoW in the bgeinning it was whole lot of diffrent then now same thing with RO or other MMORPG   |

I've heard a lot of people complain about it, some even give valid reasons as to why pre-cu is actually any better than the CU. SWG was a broken game from the start, people liked pre-cu because it was good, if not brilliant and because they had gotten used to its quirks, exploits and such. Fact is the amount of people running around in full compo was silly and buffs (while well executed overall) were unbalanced, or only there to fix an unbalance already in the game. While CU had many of its own problems it went some way to correcting some of those already existing. Also i've found the #1 reason eveyone played swg was for the community, the #2 reason being that it is Star Wars, while the community took a hit with the CU it was nothing compared to the NGE and thats the main reason the NGE is so bad - not because it wrecked gameplay so badly (particularly at first) but because of how completely it destroyed the communities built up in the game. I was force sensitive and such just prior to the CU, i completed my trials and such about half way through the CU. The CU was a positive step, most people i talk to agree that it was moving in the right direction before the NGE hit. SWG needs to go back to the old days, but don't assume for a minute that the pre-CU was loved by all SWGers. In fact, most people were clamoring for a revamp by April 2005. In a typical fashion for MMO players, they demanded change and once they got it, they hated it and wanted to go back. Well i got a 21 free trial recently because i'm a veteran player i guess? Checked it out for a few days but despite some people i know still playing i'm finding it really hard to even get enough interest to play it.
Its not as bad as it was when the NGE hit, but its still far far far from what it should be. Yeah i was subscribed when Lightspeed came out, it was a great addition, although they have taken far too long to introduce new elements to it, particularly as they promised pilot-able capital ships and such.

Well I'm not sure what the current trial offers but there is a hell of a lot you can do on the space station now, not sure if Jump to Lightspeed is included in the trial but you can do space missions flying around in a fighter (can't remember what its called). I think one of the reasons I'm enjoying it more is because of the Jump to Lightspeed expansion. They didn't have it last time I played and it adds a bit of variety so if you get board running around planet-side you can go see someone and do a space mission to break things up a bit. _______________ *CLICKEH->Never risk the Fett Man|*Download my Saber here. I have been tempted many times to see what its like, and have resisted many times. With uni coming up i really can't see myself ever playing it again.
Anyway yeah, i had a toon on Flurry once, it was a tiny pitch black bothan, with bright white fur, in bright white clothes - needless to say he was an entertainer. I've just reinstalled it and think it's pretty good, I played it a few years ago and got board with it, mainly because the servers were all US or Euro and really sucked to play on.
But yeah I'm enjoying it now although I would have preferred to work my way to Jedi like I was doing and not just join as one. I think it's cost around $14/month $40/3 months and $140 for 12 months but dont quote me on that.
