THE PROCESS OF BLACK CREATION Lucas Ammons

Somewhere in space, at this very moment a star, billions of years-old prepares to die. The nuclear fusion reaction that sustained the star is nearing its end. Inside the star its core gets squeezed smaller and smaller, until finally the star explodes creating a supernova. The supernova creates more energy than all the stars in a given galaxy. Out of the remains of supernova comes a neutron star. A neutron is a mass of the densely packed matter left over from the core the star. The neutron star will devolve into a black hole if the gravitational stresses upon it are too great.
A black hole is a cosmic “drain” it sucks up anything that crosses over the event horizon, the part of the black hole that object can safely orbit. When an object passes beyond the event horizon that object, be it a meteor or the most advanced spacecraft the universe has ever known, it and its crew are doomed. The crew will die long before their ship even reaches the center of the black hole. Their bodies will elongate vertically and get squeezed horizonily, the will be crushed, and the atoms of the ship and its crew will be ripped apart, nothing will remain. Not even light, which travels 186,000 per/sec. can escape a black hole.
Many years ago scientists were looking for the source of gamma ray bursts. Gamma rays are the most destructive form of radiation in the universe, they caused by a black hole, which because of its gravitational pull the gamma rays exit both ends of the black hole in a tight jet of particles.
Black holes are one of god’s greatest cosmic creations. They are marvel of the laws of gravity, and for those brave space explores of the future check the stars, not your sensors.

Uh, do recommend you use scientific units; the speed of light in a vacuum is just under 3x10^9 ms^-1 (300,000,000 meters per second).

To put it very simply, gravity is (hypothetically) caused by the interaction of subatomic particles called gravitons, between subatomic particles of relative momentum.
Therefore, the point the writer should be making here is that the mass of light is zero, and that the momentum is relatively tiny, rather than that the speed is relatively huge.

This process only affects stars with a specific mass - white dwarf stars are potentially capable of creating a supernova aswell; the process is a completely different one though.

Quote:

Not necessarily. Depending on the mass of the stellar remnant, the neutron degeneracy pressure may be insufficient enough to prevent further collapse, ultimately preventing the formation of a neutron star and collapsing directly into a black hole instead.

Quote:

Wrong/Unclear. The core of a typical neutron star has a mass of 1.3 - 2 solar masses, and approximately the density of an atomic nucleus - sans the charge. A single neutron has a mass way less then that; infact, the neutron star's core consists of a ball of neutrons.

Paradoxically, quantum effects allow black holes to emit a form of thermal radiation, and thus let particles escape event horizon. With each escaped particle, the black hole loses a small amount of energy and therefore a small amount of it's mass ~ causing the black hole to literally evaporate with time.

Quote:

Wrong. The emission of gamma rays can be caused by all sorts of sub-atomic particle interactions; i.e. radioactive decay, electron-positron annihilation etc. However, i agree that the majority of gamma-ray bursts are caused by black holes - yet, not solely; certain forms of gamma-ray bursts can also be caused by the collision of two neutron stars.
