So...does anyone here have a PS3? Would you recommend it? How much did you pay? I never played Shadow of the Colossus. Good news: the game rental place is like a minute walk from my back door.
Thanks for chipping in everybody. I think I'll wait and see whats happening with Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD. You should always follow the golden rule and say "NO" to Microsoft. Where do you get the good games for PS3, developers are still complaining about blu ray and not having access to ps3 specs and capabilities sooner to start development on games. Example - Assassin's Creed was annouced as PS3 exclusive, now due to Sony not releasing the specs to ubisoft it is now xbox 360 bound aswell, infact its possibly coming to xbox 360 before PS3. And silk you only pay for live 1 a year, and its a moderated online community, sony's online attempt was totally unmoderated and thus you would end up playing wrestling with someone using a gameshark for unlimited health etc.. Least with Microsoft they dont allow this to happen. Sure microsoft has some bad software but generally the hardware is good. Xbox is a very good console with solid online following. Im not just a xbox fanboy either, i still play my PS2 alot and i have yet to find a better game than shadow of the colossus for sheeer epicness ( word ? shrug  )
The Wii from what i gather is a party piece mainly, and concentrates on fun not awesome gfx and such things. From what i seen it works well and Zelda still looks as good as ever. To round it up, if the PS3 was cheaper i could understand people thinking about buying one, but when a xbox 360 which has the same power (if not more power currently now the developers are discovering new things) i would go with the 360 but alas it isnt our choice its yours. NOTE - If they bring out shadow of the colossus on PS3 with co op play i will sell my soul for it. You have to experience shadow of the colossus to understand that sarafice 
Silk if your unsure, wait it out because i personally think the blu ray is a big mistake, much like other sony stuff like betamax video etc.. Microsoft have released a HD DVD add on to 360 for like $180 and i believe HD will win the war of the new Entertainment media. _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are

I recently got a Playstation 3 as a gift, and it packs quite a punch compared to the other next-gen consoles comparatively. However, all of the launch titles for it suck, save for Resistance: Fall of Man. All I'm really waiting for is Grand Theft Auto IV and MGS 4.
It's also very large, which was a pain for me to set up because there was hardly any room for me to put it anywhere. In all, I'd suggest the Wii over the PS3 by far with the limited release titles that the PS3 has. If you really want a game, namely MGS 4 or GTA IV , then feel free to buy it. Otherwise, don't. |

I don't know how much difference this will make, but I rarely ever play games online except on my COMPUTER. And I don't really like paying for anything Microsoft...I've aquired everything I have of theirs through playtest gratuities. Somehow having to fork out for Live seems kinda...GOUGE GOUGE GOUGE.
Unrelated note: have you guys seen people on eBay still trying to unload PS3s for like $1000? Ridiculous. Let's see. X-Box 360: Easier to program for, equally powerful graphic-wise but cheaper than the PS3. Way more games currently out than Sony. Both consoles will have a steady supply of games for the next few years. Both have their own exclusive franchises. The edge right now definitely goes to the 360 - Sony has had their share of bad press lately, too. I don't think you could really go wrong with the PS3, but in any 'argument' over availability of games or price/quality the X360 knocks it out of the water right now.  |

get a 360 instead or a wii, 360 is just as good graffically and boasts a impresive online community, i dont know much about the ps3 one but the ps2 online was total trash.
