I apologize on being unclear, i was referring to the "1st" pirate meeting where they imprisioned Calypso,
also for the rest of my feelings bout this movie, i let it be said by someone who pwns pirates A NINJA! _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. Is it because he was a whiney farm boy from some backwater hack planet? No, it's because he was a FREAKING JEDI. He could block lasers with his lightsaber. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs. He got his @$$ zapped by lightning from the geezer Emperor, stood up and said "s'at all you got b!tc#??" |

SPOILER!!!! Captain Barbosa (My last name btw...so yall can call me Captain ) was one of the "Captain lord" when at the time of the pirate meeting...his was 1st mate on the Black Pearl under Sparrow...so yea...GET UR DAMN STORY STRAIGHT! broken story line FTL!! _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. Should have just made Pirates:Black Pearl and called it a day. I agree. Mostly. Personally, I really didn't like it. I was very disappointed for many reasons. I can't deny that the acting and special effects were great, but the storyline was completely lost. **SPOILERS BELOW** **SPOILERS BELOW** The plot was very broken, unexplained, and lacked the adventure of the first movie. It almost seemed like they made up the plot as they were filming and when something didn't work, they just forgot about it. Here are the things that bothered me: 1. Davy Jones Locker - Yeah, it was an original twist, but that entire part of the movie made no sense to me. It's almost as if they tried to create some sort of hell for Jack Sparrow, but it's nature and purpose were unclear. 2. Davy Jones's failed job - The job of him and his crew was to take souls that died at sea to the "other side". However, this doesn't really match up with the last movie that said he was just a heartbroken man that recruited men into his immortal and aquatic crew. It seems to me like it was just a reason to not turn Will into a fish, which brings me to my next point... 3. Davy Jone's necessity - I still don't understand why he HAD to be replaced. You could say that he had to ferry souls, but Davy Jones didn't, and they got over in their little boats just fine. I won't worry too much about it though and keep the suspension of disbelief. 4. Calypso - She was a huge focus of the story, and they all talked of her power, but when it came down to it, she was really the most insignificant part of the story. She grew giant, turned into crabs. and made a whirl pool. Big deal. She could have at least been something more elemental. Also, if she was locked in human form, why did she still have her magical powers? I thought that was the reason the pirates locked her there in the first place... 5. The Final Battle - There were only two real fights out of the hundreds of ships on either side. There was the Flying Dutchman vs the Black Pearl, and the British Commodore's ship getting torn apart by the two former (which was really stupid. I never did understand why he never gave the order to fire. Also, sending in one ship at a time seems tactless to me.) After those two battles, the rest of the British ships simple ran away, even though they still outnumbered them tremendously. **END SPOILERS** **END SPOILERS** Sorry to rant, but those among other small things bothered me. I may be wrong on some of my facts, so feel free to correct me. I only saw it once. Anyway, millions of dollars in special effects, animation, and actors doesn't make up for a bad storyline in my opinion. 1 was great, I absolutely loved it. 2 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my entire life, and I've seen Plan 9 From Outer Space, and Santa Conquers the Martians, lol. 3 was decent. Nothing more nothing less. It has it's moments of greatness, and it's awful ones. |

Yeah, this one is more fantasy driven. And not just because of the huge woman either. You'll see. 
I have mixed feelings about part 3. The finale was amazing and the last 45 minutes or so was PotC at its best. But the beginning and middle was a bit muddled, with too many characters going about and too many references to pirate lore which dragged the story. They almost drowned because of all the weight they built up in the previous parts. But as I said, in the end it all comes together and it's quite awesome. |

Well the film was...Awsome. very well made and the visual effects were amazing, although one thing they messed up was there were too many stories going on through out the film.. Jacks, Elizibeth , WIll , Barbosa.. Everyone. The whole calipso thing (you will understand when you see it) was pointless imo, all that work through the film to that at the end? It was good for all intents and purposes. The second movie was left open, so the need for closure was pretty big with me. And I felt that I got that. The first movie remains the best by far, but this one was well worth watching in my opinion.
