Got this rumor from Wikipedia: Quote: On April 25th, 2007, a rumor came about that BioWare was secretly in development on a Knights of the Old Republic MMORPG. Stemming from the latest issue of EGM, the rumor contained little information to support the claim. However, investigation into the matter reveals that there is more to the rumor than EGM's single suggestion. In early 2006 BioWare opened an Austin branch to develop an unnamed MMORPG. This alone confirmed an inevitable BioWare MMO, but the choice of Richard Vogel as a leader of the project is what largely suggest that the currently unnamed MMO is set in the KOTOR universe. Vogel was one of the project leaders behind the sci-fi MMO Star Wars Galaxies. SWG was held down by being set in a universe where continuity prevented any true story development (such as seen in WoW) and SOE assuming creative control eventually caused the removal of the things that had kept SWG's hardcore fanbase playing among them the skill tree system, which allowed for more customizable characters and drastic changes to the game's combat and character profession selection.

i wonder how they are going to handle the class balance.
in star wars even the best trooper had pretty much no chance of killing a good jedi. in game terms that would be extremely unfair and no one would play gunners (bounty hunters is a different thing tho). while balancing this would be fair for mmo, but it would destroy star wars feel. what could they possibly do? _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. Trooper Class Revealed! _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. Is it because he was a whiney farm boy from some backwater hack planet? No, it's because he was a FREAKING JEDI. He could block lasers with his lightsaber. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs. He got his @$$ zapped by lightning from the geezer Emperor, stood up and said "s'at all you got b!tc#??" |

hmmm i wonder how they will make that 'no way back' thing work. i mean if you do some choices and just get different quests or paths... well its gonna be interesting and all, but to make it really matter you should be extremely punished if you screw up or get a path that would reflect it.
ofcourse the most realistic and starwarsish thing would be your death, permanent loss of body parts (that would actually rock lol) and things like that. while death wouldnt be right in a game i hope some consequences would be as overwhelming as that. but i guess it wont be like that, because if lets say you become halfrobot like darth vader, you obviously get some serious drawbacks that cant be changed, respeced etc. which means if in pvp your opponent is some kind of antirobotics expert you would be screwed no matter what. which definitely leads into countless whining threads in forums and in the end devs would allow 'respecing'. it doesnt even matter if advantages of being a halfrobot would be extreme - if there is imbalance they would still fix it. my point is that i dont want those choices to be storyline/quest/whatever only. they should have real impact on the character. the problem is - that might not happen since its a mmo. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. That was the 'first' video doc so give them some time and we'll see the other details start to emerge. honestly...i dont really care...cause KOTOR2 was horrible. The story finished at the Orginal KOTOR as far as i'm concerned. they should have finished kotor story and then made the mmo. now in a '300 years after kotor1' theme you cant really finish that story. kotor2 was half finished and now its going to be unfinished for all eternity lol.

They even talk about Revan and the exile going into unknown space...so dont get it twisted...this is KOTOR 3,4,5,6,7,8.
