Rules are easy to make. If you're having a hard time making them, just make there be no rules and if someone ever does something that you don't like, make a rule about it. |

Okay. I'm good with forums. My specialty, like obi-wan's is sith lords  . The MetaBB forums.
If you don't mind bugs but want the latest, use the Alpha v7. If you don't want to deal with many bugs, I suggest MetaBB version 6.1. Its got a few updates from 6.0. Don't mind the stuff you have to edit, thats the clean install. Well, most forum packages include their own standard rules. What are you using to build your forum with? But really, if you're paying close attention to your community, you should write your own rules. Standard rules included with packages such as vBulletin, phpBB or Invision attempt to cover every situation, so they're extremely long and boring and don't get the point across to the average reader.
For most uses, you can narrow the rules down to about ten lines. Look at the Academy - its rules are simple. It'll take you five minutes to write, tops. |
