I've always been a Freespace fan and Freespace 2 was the real deal when it came to space fighter sims. For quite a while now Freespace 2 became open source and vastly being improved from it's '99 glory.
Anyways, there is a version of the game with a star wars flavor (although in beta and progress seems to have halted). It's pretty uninspired to me, but maybe somebody will be interested in it.
