Capitalism must adapt to survive. Marx had predicted that we would have abandoned the ways of capitalism by now, but he failed to realize that it adapts at an extraordinary rate.

Obama wasn't my first choice for president, but he wasn't my last. I knew who I was voting for when it was down between McCain & Obama. So far, I don't regret it.

I know you are playing your freedom game and such, but Obama is one of the most liberal presidents we have ever had. His ideals are very borderline socialism already. I am just saying...

I made similar predictions too, but my guesstimated unemployment rate was around 10%.

Looks like you're correct. 8.1% already.

i voted for both of them. considering they are both americans, each is the living embodiment of liberty in a dark world struggling to overcome the evils¹ that reside in every single country besides america.

¹ these evils can most commonly be found in dictatorships and communist governments such as britain and canada

I don't know if he'll actually implement the fiscal policies he has promised in the next two years. I don't know if the Democrats will retain Congress in the mid-term election.

But if he does, and if they do, I'll predict the result right now: Double-digit inflation before the end of his first term and unemployment rates hovering around 6% for most of his first term.

I beg to differ on this. Most people vote to solely benefit themselves and could care less about anyone else. Atleast that is how it is here in the US. :P

Well I have to say, Finland isn't any better example on this matter... But I think, as long as there is democracy, always is hope...

i liked McCain because of his stances, i hated Obamas stances. that comes first in my book, i also liked McCains drilling choices, espccially compared to Obama.

Quite true as the trend around my neighborhood shows people with smaller houses had Obama signs and ones with bigger houses boasted McCain signs.

The Fact is that everybody should give their vote in healthy democracy... Even if your society is voting on "Which is better snail or worm?", you should vote...!

By voting you have affected to your society's progress at the same you are showing that you care about your society and people who you are living with...

I'm not a fan of the Bush administration, but he can't really take much blame. After all, Bush can only reflect the will of the Senate, Congress and his executive cabinet. There isn't much that the president can do which can't be prevented by a majority vote in congress or the senate.

Given that our government was mainly run by republicans the past 8 years, you should place the blame on the party in general (with specific exceptions such as Ron Paul [against the war], of course).

That being said, our president gave us quite a few laughs over his 8 chaos stricken years as president.

The whole point is to decide who you think will lead it best out of the available candidates. Their views tend to determine how they lead it. :P

To be honest, I really don't care who is our president, as long as they lead our country in the right direction and do good things for us, then I'm happy, regardless of their politic views or religious views.
Just my opinion though.
