I'm not trying to cheat my way into the ranks or anything like that for those of you who may think I'm doing that, I would just like to have this knowledge. Here is my question.
How are you supposed to become an instructor or knight or be part of the council and stuff like that? Do you just have to be part of JA for a long time or are their certain tasks that you must do? Thanks for prividing me with this knowledge! _______________ "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift." - Mr. Compton "Always in the pursuit of excellence!" - Mr. Compton |

Quote: Alright, here comes some information on ranked members and the process of becoming one. I'll also throw in some information concerning their duties.
The single most important quality students should posses to become Jedi Knights, is their attitude. Jedi Knights should be friendly, helpful and respectful people who, obviously, follow the rules. Keeping a cool head in conflict situations is a necessity, as is knowing to what extent they can act. For example, if there's a lamer at the server and a Jedi Knight is handling it, students shouldn't interfere. The Knight'll deal with the mess; students don't need to do that. But there's more! If you have a good attitude your gaming skills will be examined. For JA members to become Jedi Academy Knights they get toggled and face trials. These trials are quite demanding and will scrutinize their overall skills at the JK:JA game. As such, we ensure that the Jedi Knights we have are both capable and knowledgable players. Amongst other ends, consider Jedi Knight Trials to be a kind of quality control check. All ranked members together form the 'JAK+', which means 'Knights and Above'. They run the Jedi Academy as they provide classes, training, administrate the servers, website and IRC. Ranked members can also take on official Padawans. So yes, in conclusion, a rank means more than the fact that a member has a friendly face although attitude is the most important quality. These members have been tested, run the JA, provide training and administrate the servers, website and IRC. no mentioin of us retired relics _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are Best Movie Character EVER!! |

ranks might seem like a thing to look for when you join academy, but after awhile its just not that important i guess. most of people in JA know how to teach and are generally nice people, so the rank thing is just an indicator that the person isnt only quite skilled, can teach, help, but is dedicated to JA and does all those nice things more often than all others.

Ranks are not the primary focus of the academy. Most people here are and always will be students.
In order to become a Jedi Knight, you must be toggled before passing a trial. You can read more about this here. Often Jedi Knights are eventually promoted to Jedi Trainer. Jedi Masters share the same responsibilities of a Jedi Trainer, but usually receive the rank as a form of recognition for their hard work and vast amount of knowledge. People are very, very rarely given a position on the council due to the heavy responsiblities it bares and most of the time it remains as is for a long, long time. |
