There were a great many Sith Lords that were mentioned in the Star Wars Universe, but since there are only two at the same time after Darth Bane, there is no real way to compare them.

how on the tallepyon's fake religion is Darth Revan the best of the Sith lords...part of being the best being the best successful? Not being semi killed, then brainwashed by your enemy? All of you who voted for Revan are half retarded...only half cause Revan was in fact a badass Jedi, not a Sith Lord.
Palpy ruled the Galaxy with an iron fist, wiped out a whole government and their Jedi protectors. Palpy > all THE ORIGINAL SITH LORD! I think a game where you can play as any Sith would be fun. A game where you use ancient sith forces powers such as the though bomb, the illusionary serpents Exar Kun used to strike down Skywalker, Black Sith lightning and force storms. Use ancient weapons such as the Lavorok, sith sword, and light whip. Plan, spy, decieve and destroy as the greatest warlords in the Galaxy.

Still quite suprised so few people name Exar. Or Ulic for that matter.
Either way though, its pretty much accepted that sidious was the best at what he did, Being the only sith to near enough entirely eradicated the Jedi Order, and established his rule over the galaxy, other sith had crippled the jedi order severely but none with so little brute army force, or as quickly. Weather or not he's entirely the most down right powerful is another matter. I'd not consider the 'so and so learnt from so and so' argument too valid really, learners quite often become better or more powerful than their masters, which also counts for people like Luke, who arguably became more powerful than Obi. Marka ragnos is defiantly amidst the top few, and really shouldn't be discarded by any means from a top 5 or so spot, Sure sidious or Revan were both immensly powerful, but marka ragnos proved superior to all the other sith lords at the time, and kept them somewhat in line. The whole Kotor 2 sith lord bunch are all powerful, especially Sion and Nihilus. Sion was pretty much immortal and Nihilus well, correct me if im wrong (Which i may be, having not played Kotor since release) but the key reasons nih' died is because he didnt/couldn't use his power against The exile? Or am i wrong? Caedus is also worth an eye in, maybe not at the same league as say, Sidious, Kun, Bane or that 'top powerhouse bunch' as it were, but definatly powerful. He's much in the same situation as vader, being that, In my opinion, never reached his maximum prowess. He was one of the strongest jedi of his time and age, and the only reason Jaina had the upper hand on him is because of her Mandalorian training, and he only died because she thought he was tricking her when trying to warn someone. Another reason the whole learning from so and so wouldn't work is that sith knowledge was handed down from sith to sith, mixed and matched and so on. Its like comparing A modern basketball player to some of the old allstars, sure the new one would do alot more fancy stuff and score more, but only due to all the people before him figuring it all out, but he's still gunna score more (As an example) so its hard to truly say who is more powerful. If you understand my example. Im gunna have to say its pretty much impossible to settle on a definitive most powerful. I mean, i'd say Sidious was by far the most 'intelligent' in a tactical sense, but theres not too much evidence to presume he could take on any of the other sith lords of their generations. Darth Caedus, Bane, Kun, Sidious, Marka Ragnos. All of them pretty much deserve a top 10 list, but im not sure. A quick reason (Or, another reason) kun deserves a tad more love than he seems to be getting in this thread, a quote from wookiee ' Quote: His mastery of Sith alchemy resulted in the creation of battle hydras, terentateks, Night Beast, the Golden Globe, his light battle suit, and the mass genocide and extinction of the Massassi race.
