The RPG based off the Aliens franchise, which was a promising project from Obsidian (the makers of KOTOR2), has been canceled. Quite sad, but the revival of the AvP franchise makes it a bearable turn of events.
Say what you want about Obsidian, but they are capable of making Bioware level material if publishers weren't so pushy. As for the AvP game: How could it be an Alien vs Predator game without at least one Predator? So that should be your answer. I think that Alien: Colonial Marines is a different game. Ah I see, I had gotten the two mixed up as both seem to be first person action/shooters and both are to be published by Sega. I've never played AvP or its sequel, but i've heard very good things about it so a sequel (plus a spin off) can only be a good thing! While I love the original KotOR, if they had been given enough time to properly finish the game Obsidian's sequel would have surpassed it. Its plotting and characterisation were top notch. Would still love to see them given the chance to finish the KotOR trilogy proper, but looks like that will never happen now.
Shame about their Aliens game, it could have worked well. Hopefully they won't join the list of developers who are disappearing.
