I managed to get hold of a copy of JK2 this weekend. Installed it for Jordan (my 6 year old son, as some of you know) to try out since he enjoys JA so much.

Oh definitely. He makes me play it almost every day.
One evening we were on the euro server, I think, and someone enabled cheats and started spawning things. He enjoyed it so much that since then we've been playing via LAN at home, with me launching a server w/ cheats enabled.
