I read yesterday that Lucasarts and Epic Games had come to an agreement allowing them to implement Epic's Unreal Engine 3 in future games.
Lucasarts originally used the Unreal Engine in Republic Commando back in 05, so some mild speculation that we may see RC2 begun. Now 24hrs later we hear this, Tim Longo, former creative director of Republic Commando has been hired by Lucasarts to head an "an unannounced project." If you had have asked me yesterday if I though we'd see RC2 given the first announcement I'd have said "maybe but don't count on it." But after today's announcement the odd are getting better. Sorry to dust off the old stuff, but the multiplayer aspect for me was a blast. This was on the original Xbox way back in the day. There were actually a lot of cool people who played this game, and I assumed (there was my mistake) that there were a lot of cool people out there!
Now when I am playing almost anything on the 360, it's a bunch of foul-mouthed, racist 12 year olds.  |

I loved the first one but was kinda disappointed w/ the multiplayer aspect.

God i loved Republic Commando hope they make a badass sequel _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. Is it because he was a whiney farm boy from some backwater hack planet? No, it's because he was a FREAKING JEDI. He could block lasers with his lightsaber. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs. He got his @$$ zapped by lightning from the geezer Emperor, stood up and said "s'at all you got b!tc#??" |
