Looks like they reached their $15k mark. Did watch a few more videos. Seems like this game will be more arcade style. Will wait for further updates. _______________ "Do or do not, there is no try" Jedi Master Yoda Dual Saberist |

Oh yeah true, they hold a closed beta. There might be an open one someday though, but it's not mentioned anywhere.
@R2D2: Right now, it seems to be based on the source engine. The fund collecting is mostly so they can afford a source engine license, i.e. actually be able to sell the game. _______________ Find out more about the Jedi Academy Aurochs here and more about Masta here! Married to Kain. |

So, I believe this a Source Engine mod? Is it not a mod of Half Life Source, correct? More like a mod of the engine that was used in in that game? _______________ "Do or do not, there is no try" Jedi Master Yoda Dual Saberist |

They're already in beta; but they're not accepting any new testers for now. |

I think the slight delay after every swing is inspired by fighting games. Although this game is obviously different from JKA, I still feel more positive about it than M&B - despite the gameplay in M&B having an even greater resemblence to JKA (IT'S SAZIAN SMOOTH)
Well, it's one thing to watch it and one thing to play it... The future of the project appears to be rather dependent on voluntary contributions. I wouldn't jump on the hype bandwagon yet, but I still check the website every now and then. its kinda lame that they arent even doing any kind of beta or whatever. its like... please donate for something you cant even try anyway. should have atleast used business model of minecraft - show early concepts, let them play, then add a small fee and slowly go towards the real price. worked wonders. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. There are directional swings and there is both location based damage as well as directional blocks and 'increased recovery rate' (staggers). There are a bunch of 'katas' that we know from jk (charged swings) as well, but although seemingly static, most swings are very fast so the gameplay is both smooth and very dynamic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HdAG8-zQ6c - for more info EDIT: Not SW TOR well it looks 'hysterical'. not smooth and flowing... :/ imagine if in jka every swing had the 'glide delay' kind of effect. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. Quote: i dont like the 'instant' animations.
to me it really looks like: -you mash M1 and your character walks forward automatically -you mash M1 and you do predetermined moves (no left, right, up, down, diagonals like JK) -no locational damage, staggers, blocks, whatever -inspired by JK2? it looks extremely static as in if you swing you wont be able to move to sides while doing it. so while im looking forward to this... i doubt its gonna do anything new or even close to JK. Sums up my thoughts exactly. |
