Now that that horrid list of restrictions as been uplifted from my shoulders, I would like to say a few words about SWTOR, and my experiences. I have beta tested about, hm... three times total, and its gotten better progressively.
Here are my pros and cons of what I experienced. PROS: (like a boss) *^* A very interesting and compelling story. I played as the sith inquisitor. *^* lots of funny little bits. For example, your [mentor?] seems to hate your guts, saying things like "You are scum, and you will die". And there is a part where you have to interrogate someone. One of the options is "Sing a song". You force the subject to start singing. Anyway, just pretty funny. *^* The quests aren't too easy. I had to retry and even leave and come back some of the side-quests. CONS (Heh. Heh. He...h...) *^* Has some performance issues. I installed this on my main computer, not the best for gaming, but it should have run a game like that no problem. Maxed out, I got 20 fps, sometimes dropping down into the 9-10 range in high traffic areas. *^* A long time ago, on a computer far far away, I started installing SWOTOR. Its still going. It took forEVER to install, but what do you expect? *^* I don't really have a right to complain about this, but one huge bug I hated, was the map disappeared, save your character icon. This caused a lot of problems. *^* It was very WoW feeling, it just made it feel really unoriginal. *^* WHAT? My lightsaber has durability? since when has that happened. You have no idea how annoying the "weapon broken" thing show up every time you use your weapon. Well, that's not all I have, but it IS all I have time for. True, and half the time it doesn't even start at all. Waiting for my cheap GC to come. I got a HD 5670 to put in this old junkbox I have laying about in my basement. _______________ Brother to Quill You don't understand. I'm not locked in here with you, YOUR LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME! |

They aint really CONS, sucky fps = bad cpu for high settings or not updated drivers etc.. adjust settings to your hardware. Install was fine so again not really a con, the wow point < yawn > not really a con. Seriously being lazy and not repairing should not warrent a con... go play more and find proper con's  _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are

Thanks for sharing! I've heard about performance issues although not really encountered any myself (I have played on the lowest of the low end as well as one of the highest), hopefully those that exist get or have been ironed out. Never had the map bug either, had it with travel map stuff but not for a few builds. My opinion on the WoW comparison has been done to death so I won't go into it. Glad to hear you like the Inquisitor story! I'm planning on playing one of those as my first Sith character.

Thanks for sharing! I've heard about performance issues although not really encountered any myself (I have played on the lowest of the low end as well as one of the highest), hopefully those that exist get or have been ironed out. Never had the map bug either, had it with travel map stuff but not for a few builds. My opinion on the WoW comparison has been done to death so I won't go into it. Glad to hear you like the Inquisitor story! I'm planning on playing one of those as my first Sith character.
