Ever had a skill that can change entire battles but it goes under used because it breaks on damage or people don't get the benefit because they don't know how it works. Now's your chance.

Yeah, Smugglers and Agents get a droid version of this. It takes them out of the action for a minute but heals them in the process. Same as lift it breaks on damage, this can easily result in a wipe if not properly explained.

Edit: Monteee you totally ninja'd my idea for my first Imperial character. :( haha.

All those kinda skills require is people around you who are smart and aware enough to not break it.

Being a Sin and caster in pretty much every MMO I've played I know what you mean with that stuff.

You sleep someone, sap someone, root someone ro in any other way CC someone and some chump comes in and goes "WHAAA DPS!!one!!"

Taking party lead and marking targets is usually a good way to resolve this though.

I've been telling Sages I group with which mob to lift at the start of fights. I'm the tank basically. They are pretty good at catching any patrols too! Lifting elites really makes fights more manageable in heroics / flashpoints.

I present the Jedi Sage version of the skill Force Lift, when a Consular becomes a Sage their Force Lift changes with them. The Jedi Sage is able to Lift for a duration of one minute and the skill has a cool down of one minute meaning they can take one mob out of battle until it's ready to be dealt with.

Force lift is in essence a mez skill, meaning that as long as the mob doesn't receive damage they will be unable to act. As far as I'm aware this works up to elite(gold) mobs.

What does this mean for me?
If you're a tank or group leader you can tell a friendly sage and the group which mob is to be lifted to thin the initial numbers.
If you are attacking near a Mezzed mob then you want to be careful of your AoE skills which will bring the mob back into the fight.
If you're soloing as a Sage then those two elites and one strong are actually One elite and one strong, then after you've done with them another elite one its own, far more manageable.
