back by not so popular demand... ok, heres my question, this happened to me, and im wondering if i did the right thing. I was in class, and as i was walking out, i noticed (well, 2 of us did) that there was someone crying in the back. Now, i happen to fell towards her (i dont know why). I stopped and asked if she was allright, she didnt answer. By this time, the other person who noticed her, was beside her asking whats wrong, and conforting her (you know how good friends do that). I stayed, wondering whats wrong, and if i should stay and ask to help, or just jet out. In the end, as they stood up, i offered to help(she said she was allright, and didnt need help). So i left then. I didnt see her for the rest of the day, and i am now wondering if i did the right thing. of course you did the right thing. i dont know why you would think you did something wrong. you did exactly what most people would have done. people dont just cry in class for no reason. obviously she had a problem and you were just offering to help. i realize she said there wasnt a problem and didnt take your offer of help but thats ok. at least you offered to help and thats what counts. _______________ "We keep odd hours...." ----------------------- They Live, We Sleep |

actually, the question i usually ask in those situations is "is there a right thing to do?" or, if im optomistic: "did i choose the lesser of two evils." i could go on endlessly about how certain scenarios would have made walking away a good thing, others that make it a bad thing, and yet more that the only response could possibly be you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. in the end, you have to make a decision and stick with it, if it turns out it was the wrong way to do things, well then its your job to figure out how you could have know. |
