Well, I just had to do one of, if not the toughest thing I've ever had to do in my life. I had to put my dog, Bear, to sleep. He's better off, since he could "Bear-ly" walk anymore, couldn't get up by himself, pee/poop on himself, etc. He was the coolest dog ever! He loved hanging out during my infamous garage parties I used to have. Sometimes he'd get more drunk than me! I still have the frisbee he used to drink from. At least I got to share a last beer with him last night and some pretzels, his favorite. I used to "accidentally" drop them on the floor and he was right there to clean up. I also remember being asleep, and as soon as I'd open my eyes, he'd be there staring at me and he'd wag his tail and lick my nose. I used to put on my rollerblades, put him on the leash and let him pull me down the road. On cold nights, he'd jump up on my bed and sleep next to me to stay warm. I remember when my friends Brad and Nancy 1st found him. They were finishing up installing a computer in their friend's gas station when he just walked into the office and laid down on his back to get scratched on the stomach. All he had on was a pink bandana, no collar or anything. So they took him home, but had to get rid of him bcuz their landlord didn't allow pets. That's when he became our dog. And I'm so glad he did. I'm gonna miss him so much. ![]() If you guys/gals have any cool, funny, sad, happy, etc. stories about your pets, I'd love to hear (read) them. I had a cat growing up. She lived 22 years. It was tough when she died. She was like a sister to me because she'd always been there. Loosing her was the worst thing that has ever happend to me. I'm glad I had the chance to know her. About 2 years after she died my sister brought 2 sister cats home to me. Now I get to see them grow up. They are nothing alike and nothing like my first cat but getting to know them was really helpful in feeling complete. _______________ "Look not back in anger, nor forward in fear But around you in awareness." Thanx again folks! And thanx for the stories! I got one about my cat Felix: When I was like 10-11, I had this cat, Felix (had similar markings as the cartoon character, hence the name). He was the toughest SOB on the block. Every once in a while, like most cats, he would just disappear for a couple of days. So one time he was gone for like a week, 2 weeks, etc. Well, we gave up on him and got another cat. We had that one for like 6 months when he got run over by a car. So, like a week later, my bro and I are on our way out the door to the bus stop for school, and we hear meowing at the back door. My bro looks out the door and says, "Hey, its a cat!" I go to the door and look, and lo and behold, it's Felix! He was gone for almost a year and came back! Very weird!!! But he only stayed with us for another couple of months or so and then he disappeared again. It's like 20 year now, and I don't think he's coming back! ![]() _______________ Midbie Council Member #2 - Profile ID 2073 | Member of B@rtM@ulS@ar | Owner of Monty's 2000th comment & D@RtHM@UL's 8100th comment | Former Padawan of SilkMonkey & Arcuss JA Goaltender & NHL Fan | Fellow Rush fan to Axion|Plo Koon is my oldest JA friend Post your RL pics HERE! | Post you JK2/JK3 screenies HERE! |

I am really sorry for your lost, I used to have two dogs, they both died, both reached 15 years old, we had to put them to sleep. One of them, "Peluso," had the same thing your dog had, his back hips couldnt stand the weight, it was hard for him to walk and he was in pain, therefore we decided to put him to sleep so he wouldnt suffer anymore. I had a lot of fun with my dogs and sometimes when I look at pictures of them some tears come out, i miss them a lot too. We used to play ball in the backyard and stuff like that, i never gave them beer though, i regret that, they would have enjoyed the moment, hehe. The other dog, "Relampago," was an insect/rat hunter, sometimes rats get into my house from my neighbor's house, and he used to hunt them. Once, he bit a rat in mid air when it jumped in front of him and he caught it with his mouth...it was impressive. I hope you feel better man. ![]() _______________ Adrian, Jedi_Venezuela .:J:. I'm sorry to hear about your dog, sir :/ My siamese cat, named David (pronounced Dah-veeh.. its Hebrew) has been on this earth for > 21 years. He's finally starting to fade away. He stays at my folks place now and mom says she'll put him to sleep before he starts to suffer. The cat that at one point in his life could tear clean accross the house at over 150mph, run smack into the washing machine, yowl about it once, then tear ass in the opposite direction for fun now has cataracts and spends most of his day in the same spot on the couch. And he's grumpy. ![]() ![]() _______________ My car is made of Nerf. This comment was edited by DJ Sith on Jun 19 2003 06:38pm. |

Well dude i know what its like to lose a dog, I've lost fishes, and thats not big deal, but dogs...... thats another story, and for cat lovers i'm sure there the same way. My dog, rocky, was a big black lab. From the day of my birth she was always there, always. She started to get old, like your dog. But thats not why we had to put her to sleep, she actually had a knee surgery so she could walk alright. But we had to put her to sleep, cuz were we live had a cool tree fort that my brother and two of his friends were building. My family was out of town, and we left the garage open and the dog chained in the garage. Well his two friends came over to get some tools and go work on the fort, and one of them somehow got our dog mad(i think she was just being protective of our property) and she bit him. The family said that they would sue if we didn't put her to sleep, and she was very old, so we kind of put her out of her misery/didn't want to go to court over a dog that might die before the trial. A few weeks latter we got a new dog, a Yellow lab(i said we couldn't get another black lab i was too young, and was still sad about Rocky) Sammie(our new dog) is now about 6 and a half human years old, and is a very great dog. We come from a city were almost everyone has guns and hunting dogs (pheasant hunting is reallly fun) i am 16 and own my own gun legally how many of you can do that ![]() anyway i'm going to stop rambling now bye bye everyone else has awards, so i'm going to give Billie's dog bear a Dicemaster award for being such a great dog (P.S. billy your dogs the first one to get a dicemaster award feel special) o yeah, and Billy your the second reciver because you get one for your tragic loss i done now good bye _______________ Dicemaster |

My pets have a tough time surviving unfortunately. Perhaps it's because it's fragile animals I used to have? Anyway, the list contains a snake, a turtle, fishes (the most beautiful of all the fishes died grusomely.... it got hit by the hose when we were cleaning the aqaurium... not too bad with the fishes, you don't get attached to them like you do with other animals) a chipmunk, and a rabbit. Almost everyone of them dead..... |
