that depends on the person. some people are better with a single blade becasue it allows them to focus their attacks better, others can use 2 blades but have difficulty coordinating 2 hands, that is where a double blade comes in. 2 light sabers would work for some one who is both talented and skilled and the ownzer of the all: ... 2 double bladed sabers. it would be almost impossibly hard, but if you could master it no one could hold a candle to you.

as for me, i like simplicity. give me 1

Hmmmm .. would say two sabers. Depends on use off course and in what kind of combat. How many enemy's ... what they use ... and so on. Anyway depends on own skill and what you just ... well ... "like". LOL :D

I'd say the double-bladed saber, ala Darth Maul. Why? It's essentially the same as a Bo staff, which is considered to be the most efficient melee weapon around. In fact, it's said that it's one of the only weapons that can defeat the Katana.

I'd say 1 because 1 saber allows you to have each style available in fighting. Which is very usefull because you change your style every time (at least I do) so thats also the reason why Im still gonna go for 1 saber when Jk3 comes out.

i think you can learn every style...

but a single saber seems not painfull enough, you have to move very much to avoid every attack and slice only when it's perfectly save

the dual saber is the best if you are very offencive i think, you'll always have something like defence

then dubble saber, i think this is a nice thing between, you can hurt the foe a lot by hitting it twice at the sime time, but if you're not moving it's very hard to hit you, what i do think is that you need very much training in this

I guess it's the same reason the military doesn't commonly assign people 2 AKs. It's hard as hell to wield, and it's difficult to produce/ expensive to equip everyone. I don't think you'd much feel like building a second lightsaber after the pain in the butt the first one was to make.

Two sabers have always seemed pointless to me, more like the idea of 'I suck with one, so I'll try two'

I personally lean towards dualbladed, but it hasn't been used to its fullest in the movies.

The strongest is the one you master most, but I think that dual bladed needs the most skill. With two sabers, you block with one, and slice with the other....

double blade is pretty damn good if you know how to use it well. double single blade is really strange since theres really only one blade swinging and the other guarding

MY two cents:
I think the way it goes is a jedi witht he proper training can adapt his style to any saber type. If you noticed Anikin use a single saber though out the movie till the end. In the end Oni Wan was incapasitated and tryin to give Anikin an advantage becaue of Annikins deep connection to the force. My thinking on this is that any good trainer in the Jedi Academy would train for any type of situation that might come up. Think about Anikin when he becomes Darth Vader only use 1 saber. Why is that? Because he was never ina situation after becoming Vader where he may have needed it. So in my opinion a Jedi's ability to wield either a saber staff or two sabers depends on his level of training and his connection with the force.

If you have 2 sabers and you have practised a LOT. I think it's the best style. Since you can throw one and continue fghting with the other. If you are fighting against someone with just 1 saber you can distract him with your first saber. And then suddenly strike with the 2nd. I can imagine defence will be a little bit worse then a single saber, as you have to focus on 2 things at the same time. BTW, if 1 of your hands get chopped off, you still have 1 with saber to continue the fight:D:D

Single saber) Ok, you can block a lazer and hold off a jedi, but what about two simultanious blaster shots? Or what if while you're blocking one saber, another is cutting down on you?

Light-staff) You can block two so you've got a foot up on the problem, but what if the two aren't in a line that you can get? Like, what if one comes from in front of you and one from above? Or behind?

Two sabers) Lots of freedom to be defensive and offensive at the same time. Hard to adjust to but if you had the skill to do it you could kick butt!

Yeah, I totally think they all have good things and bad things. I'd personally use the light-staff, as I used to do kendo and so can handle a stick pretty well. ;)

First u can saberlock with all sabers even 2 or double bladed ones :).

I think there isnt a generally best saber.
Each Jedi/Sith picks the one he likes best.
And each Jedi/Sith is good with the one he has it doesnt matter if u have 2 sabers or double bladed. You have trained with those since the beginning so you can become equally good with 2 as another is with only 1.

In theory, it would depend on what you want to do. When you use a single saber, you can put more strenght behind your swings and strike more accurately and still have a good defense. When using two, you give up some accuracy and power, but are able to attack more often or use the other saber for increased defense. This requires talent and training, of course. The double bladed also gives you more attack power, but also requires more training/talent to use. The fact that it is purely a killing weapon is why the jedi council discouraged use of these sabers.
I would say that a single saber is probably the most practical, because it has good attack power and defense, and it is easier to master than the other two.
