Has anyone set up a dedicated server to use Internet Connection Sharing? My gateway computer is using W2K, and the machine behind it running the server is running XP. On the gateway machine I set up the ICS services to allow the server machine UDP ports 28060, 28061, 28062 and 28070 through 28081 inclusive, which is what the LucasArts web site said to do. Still when I start up the server it sends the heartbeat to Ravensoft and hangs forever. Ideas? Thanks, Sam _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

Well there's one problem right there. You can't use more than one brain at once; it causes IRQ conflicts. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

here is my experience: we tried just sharing a connection between a w2k and a xp machine. We first set it up to have w2k give xp a number for internet access but that did not work at all. So we switched with xp doing everything and w2k running alongside and it worked. However, I do not know how this will help, I just thought it might. _______________ Faithful Padawan of {SKX}Dark Blade My profile pic is luke skywalker |
