Aaaargh! My life is passing me by and I didn't even realize it until last week! I'm getting OLD! Yeah well, I'm really just thirteen, but when you feel like you can say 'Kids these days' and mean it, it means you're getting old! Last week, my cousins came to my house, and spent their entire stay dancing around the house punctuating their speeches with burps and farts, singing songs about boobs, and spending eight hours a day on the playstation and another eight on the computer, searching for more boob songs! And what's worse, my siblings have joined in on the vulgarity. Kids these days don't got no respect for their elders, like to talk back, and don't believe in subtlety. It just isn't the same as when I was young. That's two years ago. I'm older than them by two years. What's the world coming to? Jacen, I don't have any expertise in sociology or whatever area it is that this pertains to, but I know this: I like the term "hobo sticker" for a knife. Homeschooling certainly has its share of perks and drawbacks, as with any modern education system. You mature as an individual, but you miss out on learning about social life of the future: spending every day with hundreds of ppl, but hanging around with a select few and abhoring the rest all day long in a place that is as ridiculously useless as it is boring. That's why I say we go back to the old methods. Apprenticeship! Screw the peasants and MBA's! Let those who want to learn learn, and those who want to dawdle die out in a horrible pit of their own bodily excretions. ... or something... heh _______________ "It's because I love you. little kids piss me off. not just little kids, but adolescents too. little groups of whiny young teenager annoy the hell out of me. see, im 20 years old but im always mistaken for being 15. so sometimes groups of whiny teenagers like to come up to me and try to associate with me. they ask me stupid questions like what highschool i go to or something along those lines. usually its a guy asking a dumb question just to impress his girlfriend. i usually give them the evil eye, flash them the finger and walk off. also i hate it when groups of slutty 14 year old girls start to try and flirt with me. its flattering and all but i dont mess with jail bait. frankly i find it sickening. _______________ "We keep odd hours...." ----------------------- They Live, We Sleep |

I forgot to mention....Kids these days watch tv where their exposed to swearing and disrespectful things like that, all it takes is one kid doing it and then all the others go with it. I think its because they aren't ashamed of what they are doing, and parents are scared to spank them because there are so many laws against child abuse. Also parents want to raise them differently then how they were raised, when the way they were raised worked. It showed the kids that they aren't the boss, they can't disrespect their elders...if they did they would smacked in the face. Parents need to show their kids that the world doesn't revolve around them. Yes... I was spanked when I was younger...sure, maybe I didn't turn out so well , but I behave almost 24/7...almost . I have something to bring to everyone's attention. Most homeschoolers are great. I'm homeschooled and I have a lot of friends that are VERY respectful of their elders, and even people younger than them. They have respect for everyone. They don't swear or make nasty jokes...does this say something? We (homeschoolers) are raised and taught at home and we turn out like this. We spend more time with our parents and we appreciate them more. Something about public schools seems to make things like that worse.  _______________ Wanna know what my name means? Kids are a lot less respectful these days. Just look at all those brats on Jenny Jones, Maury, etc. I love it though when those drill instructors get in their faces!!! I think part of the problem is that a lot of parents aren't spanking their children nowadays because supposedly it's wrong. I'm not saying kids should get a smack on the butt for every little thing they do wrong, but once in a while, when they really deserve it they should get it. What I really hate is when I walk by some little children in school.... no respect for older students or adults. When I was little that wasn't how it was done... or at least I don't think so, my memory is weak. |
