There's this game I play, it's called A Dark Portal. It's a MUD. MUD - Multi User Domain, but that's not important. The theme is medival roleplaying, and everything in the mud sticks to that very carefully. The important part is that it's been in the works for 4 years and is nearing completion. The problem is that there aren't enough people to do the stuff that needs to get done. They are looking for 'builders'. What this title means are people that make an area, comprised of anywhere from 50 - 100 rooms (More if you're crazy!) with a written description in each one. EXAMPLE: Soft, rolling waves crest and break here and there. Flashes of gold from the sun high above reflect off of the surface, while the sharp scent of saltwater is strong. Looping overhead, diving occasionally to catch an errant fish, a few gulls make their presence known;. The lurking shadows of deep-sea creatures - or perhaps inanimate objects - are visible below. The lithe form of a large fish flows by, about a furlong down, while strands of seaweed, uprooted from their watery home, float nearby. A strong sea breeze freshens the area as it sings in low tones. Now, this does take a bit of spare time. Not a whole lot, but some. If this kind of creative writing suits you, use telnet to connect to adarkportal.kyndig.com port 7005. (Or do a search for 'Download GMud' and use that program to connect, it's much, much better) Edit: Oh and I forgot! You can use progs (programs that can be triggered by pretty much anything a player does from drop something, to say something, to enter the room) to create quests. I would like to, but I have too much going on to take a few more minutes out of my time. I'm trying to learn Japanese, get some homework done, AND study for my driver's permit/license.
