I joined the JA July of 2002, and this is my first topic started EVER! Simply put, if you are looking for a C++ Compiler, I honestly don't think you should spend money on Microsoft Visual C++. I've used it, and I don't like it very much. That is why I'd like you to see the compiler I DO use. Dev-C++, made by Bloodshed Software, is a free, open-source C++ Compiler. I personally think that Dev-C++ has a very user friendly interface, and I just find it overall better than Microsoft Visual C++. Anyways, here's the link, enjoy: http://www.bloodshed.net [That is the link to BloodShed Software's page, do the rest of the work yourself!! |

I had problems with 4.9.8.0, but it is a Beta build, so that isn't entirely unexpected. If you do experience problems, drop down to 4.0. 4.0 is stable and fun, but not near as colorful. |
