Crashes

This really sucks, and I'm certain it's my problem in some way...

I crash way too often, and usually when things are going really well for me...

I can't figure out what's causing it, but almost everytime I play the game the screen either gets all garbled, and I have to exit, or the computer will crash to blue screen, and I'm running windows 2k, which almost never has blue screen crashes, and I've been using this OS for like 3 years or so...

When the screen gets garbled, even exiting the game doesn't fix the screen entirely. the desktop still looks really crappy, I have to restart windows in order to get things straight again.

Of course I'm leaning towards the video card for this reason, but honestly I'm not certain that it is in fact the problem.

Anyway, I've had a lot of difficulty finding any info on troubleshooting this problem on any website, as there probably aren't very many people out there having the problems I've been having...

Does anyone have any advice?

Also upgrade DirectX to 9.0b

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

After that, run disk cleanup and defragment your harddrive!!

Good Luck :)

Yeah, I'd suspect the vid card/driver too.
I wouldnt rule out dodgy ram or power supply problem though, especially if the problem crops up ranndomly.
Do any other 3D games cause problems?
If you can re-produce the error, and post the text of the blue screen error, that may help with diagnosing the source of the problem.

Try updating your video card drivers. Possibly try reinstalling jk2
