Yes, I'm refering to the big worm/virus that everyone is talking about. Hear this story of woe and hopefully you can avoid a similar fate! A friend of a friend got infected with virus. He called my friend and asked him to come look at his computer becuase it was acting weird. But my friend forgot to stop by after work and looka t it. So this kid takes it to a computer repair tech and that guy says he needs a new HD. After dropping off the computer he tells my friend about it. My friend informs him that the tech couldn't be right and it only sounds like a virus. So my friend calls him and gets the guy to just fix the virus and not replace the hard drive. So what's next? Kid gets a $80 computer repair charge for something that he could have fixed himself or have my friend fix for him for $0 in about 5 minutes. The moral? Don't goto computer fit-it places. I'm sure you all got friends (like in the JA) who will help you out. Just make sure whoever works on your computer knows what they're doing. _______________ I must not fear . Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear . I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. Gom gom gom gom gom! |
