Hey everyone. This may be a little early for me to post a topic on this but this link down below is a (teaser?) trailer of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. The trailer is about a minute and a half. Looks good to me Link: http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=lordoftheringstrilogy Please tell me if its a broken link and I'll try to find the real one . _______________ Katan's Music Bruver History will be kind to me, for I intend to write it. - Winston Churchill This post was edited by LEO2033 on Aug 25 2003 06:21pm. |

*Looks around* Who bumped this? Quote: Okay, so for anyone who has the Return of the King extended DVD, did you watch the Easter Egg on the first disc, and if so... when will you wear wigs?! Oh, well, I think a new topic might have been safe for this one. Anyway, yeah I have seen that one. Awesome. It's the funniest easter egg I've ever seen. I don't expect many (any?) replies to this topic, but if you own the DVD in question, be sure to watch this gem by going to Scene Selection, selecting the final scene and then press 'down' to highlight a ring in the menu to see Elijah Wood's interview with Hans Jensen. _______________ Top ten reasons to get a better computer...|My fan |

It was Pippin. He looked into the Palantir and "met" Sauron himself, after which Gandalf and him rode for Gondor on Shadowfax. |
Marcel Mandarijn - Student |
(I think it was Merry). Yes, this scene should have been in 3t, but the movie ends sooner then it should, so maybe it'll be in rotk. |

well one of the two Hobbits (don't remember which one) looks into the Palantir after the fall of Isengard and sees the eye, maybe they modified it for the film _______________ I know the pieces fit, 'cause i watched them fall away... |

I'd still like a answer to my question plz "From what I saw in the teaser trailer and on the special features disc, in the movie, Sauron thinks that Pippin (or Merry) has the ring, but I don't remember that from the book.Is it right?? " |

ty Jacen what do you mean with the Merry and Pippin part? EDIT: That's exactly what i was trying to say, DJ; "all they did to the movie was bitch" This comment was edited by Marcel Mandarijn on Sep 04 2003 06:19pm. |

You cant expect such a volume of work as LOTR to be compressed into 3 2+ hour movies. Jackson's doign a good job. You guys need to check out his older stuff. Truely classic. I was a little dissapointed with the ents though. All they did the whole movie was bitch. Same with Merry and Pippin. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

ehh, Ulic, they're taking the women and children to helms deep to defend them. Those Uruk-Hai where there to destroy every1, remember? Also, I'd like to add the thing about Aragorn being nearly killed to your story, now THAT doesn't make sense at all! I do agree It's a great movie, but Peter (not Jello) just vandalised the movie @ some points, and I totally don't understand it! It was better the way Tolkien wrote it... some minor things u might have noticed: 1.in tfotr, Frodo is stabbed by a nazgul, and they encounter arwen, who helps frodo to get to rivendell; it's ok, except it wasn't arwen but a male elf (i don't remember his name). But they prolly done this because otherwise there would be too many characters. 2.In 3T, the story about the ents is quite messed up.You prolly know about the story how Merry and Pippin "lure" Treebeard to Orthanc, but there should also be ents @ Helm's deep, helping our noble friends. 3.Talking about Helm's deep, those elves didn't come, but i think they did this so the "good guys'" victory was more believable, since they threw out the ents, the outcome of the battle would otherwise be like o_O. Enough said, and again, I'd like to mention I love the movies, I'm just a little bit disappointed. 1 more thing: From what I saw in the teaser trailer and on the special features disc, in the movie, Sauron thinks that Pippin (or Merry) has the ring, but I don't remember that from the book.Is it right?? EDIT: I totally agree the Osgiliath thing sux rhino balls, and I have an explanation for it: (!) I think they just wanted to put Osgiliath in the movie. PS sorry for (perhaps) bad english... Faramir is horribly casted, as is eowyn. The story of the second part is much more mutilated then the first part. Why is Gandalf angry with Theodens decision to evacuate Edoras when in reality it was his idea, and why do they bring all woman and children to helmsdeep? I can't remember the fortress being completely overrun by orcs till the point that only the king, the main characters and some 15 horsemen are left somewhere in a hall. I won't even speak about the Osgiliath thing, there must be reasons for it but it isn't compatible with the book. I must say however that Peter Jackson did nonetheless a great job, i think noone would have made the movie the way he did. The details and the amount of time needed to shoot the film really illustrate the love for the books the crew has. _______________ Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam |

hm, okok i agree with the faramir part btw |

I'm actually sad about Faramir. In the books he was a noble man, he didnt want to take the ring. He helped Frodo and Sam, he never brought them to Osgiliath. They never saw the city and Frodo never tried to kill Sam! Grr. Faramir is good! He's not like his brother Boromir. But in the movie, he's even worse than Boromir! Arr >( Btw, somebody you does not want to know the story propably wouldnt see the teaser... and wouldnt visit this thread I was only telling you what you will see in the teaser and what was said in the DVD Preview. _______________ Aeth S'kray *June 2002 +September 2003 |

Well, if you've read the books, you know what happens. Except that the movies have completely bastardized the books, so those of us who read the books actually don't know what will happen. Top-notch eye-candy, anyway. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

Aeth, u are telling too much; wich ruins it for people who don't know what's going to happen. About the thing Jacen said: I'm mostly afraid of that perhaps they aren't going to show what happens after Frodo "ends his mission". |
Jacen Aratan - Student |
I would give a statement about Hobbit's, but that might ruin it for those who haven't read the books. I just hope they haven't changed too much from the books like they did in TTT. :/ |
Aeth S'kray - Retired |
If you had the TTT-DVD (like me ) you'd know the scenes already. For those that haven't: ROTK will be even bigger, better, faster, stronger like they always say. The battle for Helms Deep was like some hundre men against 10 000 Orks. The battle for Minas Tirith will have more like 200 000 combatans! We will see poor Mr. Frodo completly taken over by the ring. Peter Jackson said that everybody who saw the movie came out different than they came in. Looks like its going to be a real heartbreacker-movie. Aww, poor cute hobbits suffer and all What more? We will see the evil spider... we will see Aragon becoming king. But he has to take a test first, he has to enter a haunted cave. Boy, the few scenes they showed were already pretty scary. That'll give some screams in the movie theaters I'm too wishy washy right now to remeber more of it. I... er... go to bed now, yes :S _______________ Aeth S'kray *June 2002 +September 2003 |
