Ok Here's a post with some usefull links. I will keep updating this as needed. If you don't know about this site and you are a Windows User you need to know about this. This site will patch your os with any of the bugs in any Windows OS. http://www.windowsupdate.com A good piece of software to have. This will scan your computer for any kind of spyware that any freeware or shareware program that you download and install. http://www.lavasoftusa.com or you can try spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html *NOTE* Don't have both installed or they will say each other is spyware. I like spybot better. A good free anti-virus program.. If you don't have a anti-virus I recommend you do. http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php This site is good for information on ISP's(Internet Service Providers). It alos has a great little toolset for testing your internet connection and the forums are helpful for tweaking your pc to get the most out of your connection. http://www.broadbandreports.com Do you have windows XP or 2000 and a great video card? Seem to be stuck at about 60FPS, even though you say like com_maxfps 120? Simple fix http://www.ryanmh.com/files/reforce.zip is a fix for a Windows Bug that locks your frame rate at 60 fps when you can get higher. All you do is unzip that run it, click auto populate, hit Apply and reboot and boom FPS allover the place _______________ When a Man lies he murder's some part of the world. I have a problem!! Ok anytime I run a game whether it be jk3, ffxi, kotor, whatever. The game runs really bad! Its like the screen as you move, goes in slow motion. Its horrible! I first noticed it in ffxi, but then I went to play jk3 and it was there too. Then I tried Kotor, same thing. Any ideas? We did a defrag on my pc. I also updated the latest driver on my graphics card. The card is a Geforce 4600 i think. Any idea what the problem can be? HELP ME!!! EDIT: Oh ya, my memory is fine. Only 1/3 full. _______________ RIP MOM 06/29/58-07/31/08 Married to Koyi Donita 4/30/11 This comment was edited by Smilykrazy on Sep 25 2004 12:59am. |

Windows won't let me close lsass. However when I reboot, I get two lsass processes, and it lets me close the false one. Suppeh... Just got the internet hooked up to my crappy comp at school (p3 600MHz...yea...) but now that it's up, it's fartin on me. Every 5 mins or so I get a 'shut down warning' box that I can't close or bypass. It gives me one minute to save all my stuff before the comp restarts. The reason is because the 'lsass' process dies. Any ideas? ty |

Here is a tutorial for Quake modding I found in the old FAQ page of the site: http://www.planetquake.com/code3arena/ Some of the sections in there are about client-side though; hopefully, you'll understand which. _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. I have the same pro as Koyi. I am trying to play X-Com (Terror from the Deep if you must know ) and when I load it up, it runs the game WAY too fast, simply because its using the resources it can. Will that help slow it all down as well? _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |

I have a question and I hope it isn't a stupid one. On my old old old pc, I played games like X-Com that ran off of Dos from what I know. Problem is, my new computer now runs on Windows XP Hell Editions and I can't seem to get those great old games working again. I even tried the B.S. Compatibility Mode and it still won't work. Any programs I can purchase or download in order to make these games work on my new pc or should I take the advise of some computer shop hot shot who told me to buy a used older pc to run them? Thank you very much for your help in this matter. _______________ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. If you put something as your domain, the domain server MUST have your username and password. If your school doesn't do so, then don't use a domain name. Just use a workgroup. And well to log in as a local administrator, you have to choose to login to your PC (not the domain). Thus you'll have to use the password you set for Administrator of your PC, not the password you had when you chose a new domain. Try your older admin password, or, heck, try a blank one. _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. |

Orion...I'm pretty screwed lol... I was trying to set up the network connection with my computer at school. Little did I know that the network outlet in my room wasn't even activated yet. Anyway I somehow changed the domain name to MCDONOGH from the original LANGUAGEMASTERS...now the computer wants to auto log in with username 'Administrator'...but the password I set up when I changed the domain, 'president', won't work. So I can't log in to my computer...whenever I try to log in it gives me the error saying I need to check the username and domain, then retype the password. Problem is the Domain input bar on the login screen has disappeared...so I can't figure out how to change it. My regular desktop login username is 'mstier'...so I tried to input in the username field 'LANGUAGEMASTERS\mstier' and then enter my password. I get the same error. I even tried 'MCDONOGH\mstier', but that won't work either... Any ideas on how I can log in?? Thanks, |
