"It means only one thing, and everything: cut. Once committed to fight, cut. Everything else is secondary. Cut. That is your duty, your purpose, your hunger. There is no rule more important, no commitment that overrides that one. Cut. The lines are a portrayal of the dance. Cut from the void, not from bewilderment. Cut the enemy as quickly and directly as possible. Cut with certainty. Cut decisively, resolutely. Cut into his strength. Flow through the gaps in his guard. Cut him. Cut him down utterly. Don't allow him a breath. Crush him. Cut him without mercy to the depths of his spirit. It is the balance of life: death. It is the dance with death"

well, some laptops are indeed not capable of running OpenGL based apps.

but thats only the case on limited SiS and other cheap, old integrated gfx chipsets.

every newer (lets say age 1 year or less) laptop or gfx card IS capable of that.

Ranja, this sounds like a game limitation or possibly a bug. I doubt it has anything to do with your gfx drivers.
Trying to play a siege map, as a single player map, amy just be freaking out the JK3 engine, as it only expects the siege maps to be used as part of a MP game
If the normal SP game works ok, and the normal MP game works OK (i.e. using the MP maps that are listed as available for the gametype you want to play), then I wouldnt worry too much about it.
If you are getting weird graphical stuff happening during normal game use then I'd suggest re-installing whatever the latest graphics driver you have and seeing if that does the trick.
May be worth reinstalling the game too if nothing else helps

I have a laptop, and its the only computer in the house that will run Jedi Academy. Sometimes while playing (only while attempting to play a MP map in SP(especially seige maps)) I will get this error. I restart my computer-and its fixed... What's up with that? I would update my drivers but its a laptop and there are no driver updates.

not all gfx cards will run openGL either.. e.g. the old Voodoo3 card, and a few others.

Voodoo is based on Glide (a contrast to openGL) supporting (NOT quake-engine (as used in JK2 and JK:JA)) unreal-engine based games and such..

er.., to my point
if you have a gfx card that doesn't support openGL you will not be able to play JK2 or JK:JA, even with the new drivers. but all this crap is nonsense, since I guess you DO or DID play JK2

That's not the same, Jello, I think. That is something about it loading, and then freezing at "Gamestate" or whatever it's called right before you enter the game.

I agree with GL, try updating your drivers. Open GL is graphic-related.

PS: Please don't post this topic twice. Thank you. :)

I remember something with this problem, I think you have to remove a certain map (or a few) from your base folder, not sure, might be a diff error

Sounds like you need to install the drivers for your graphics card again.
OpenGL is a part of these drivers, and reinstalling them should fix the problem.
