...It is almost unbearable to think about. I am confident however that she will inherit the kingdom of God. Though it be possibly the most difficult commandment given, let us strive to remember Jesus's words: "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" (Matthew 5:44). I think this is good council for us all, Christian or not. |

Well, leave it to my friend to give me a decent response to things like this. I cut and pasted from her message, so, well, take a look. I'm not trying to push Christianity, but that's simply the lens I view things through, and the same lens she views things. Don't be offended though, that's all. -------> it' not about what i want, it's about what HE wants. God always listens to our prayers and in doing so be will give one of three answers 1. yes 2. not yet or 3. i have something better in mind. And sometimes HE doesn't give us answers that we can understand or the ones we expect. We have to stick to our faith and realized that in time we will be blessed by the sufferings in our lives. Nobody said that life was going to be easy. Jesus Christ is the ultimate testimony to that. He stretched out him life on the cross, the ultimate act of love and suffering. So as we journey with Christ, we will suffer. As a Christian we expect that. and have to keep going forward knowing that GOd is with us there when we are suffering. He understands, He's been there and all He's asking of us is to call on HIm for help. I guess that's a lot of rambling. But that's typical of me. (*shrugs*) I guess people just can't look at life as something linear. Good things don't always happen only to good people, sometimes the bad as well. And Bad things don't always happen to bad people, sometimes the good as well. it may not make sense to us, but God knows best. There is not always a humanly explainable reason as to why things happen, we just have to trust and hold strong to our faith and pray that someday we can understand. -------> Well, said my friend. Hrmmm. My condolences. I get accosted with thing like this all the time. I'm a great defender to the "Why would God let this happen?" ideas. Well, not defender. I guess I just stay strong, and people pile these things around me. It's hard to hear such news. I just got over a pastor friend having their eight-month-old child pass away for still-investigated reasons. It's hard. You just wish it would rain, so you can stand outside and scream up at God, and no one can see the tears on your face. But the Son of God did not suffer so that we may be free from pain. Rather, he died so that our suffering may be like His. I know this may or may not be the place for religious messages, but that's all I got. Whatever you believe in, we have a great gift in the end. I'm sure all religions believe that. It's just a hard journey. So I have nothing to explain thes bad things, nor really any condolences. I just know that the same God who makes the world, has bad things like this happen, also gives me the rain, so I can go out and scream at Him. I'll just be the guy screaming to the sky in the rain. But at least He gives me such forum. I'll be thinking of this, and will probably carry it with me the next few weeks. These things are truly saddening. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace.
