Edit: Just 'cuz I needed a kick-to-the-head with regard to an RL issue, I posted this. So, thanks for the vote on this, don't want to bug ppl with my RL stuff (or not too much). Just needed the reassurance that is all. And I didn't want to delete this either. So, in lieu of the new Stormtrooper taunt: Move along....move along.... _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. Meh. I just needed the kick to the head that following my morals was the decent thing to do, even if it gave up something I've been patient for. Hnnm. My opinion rests on how much this girl means to you. If she is just a friend, who you find attractive and would quite like to date, then you did the right thing by being a friend to her. On the other hand, if she means more than that to you, if you find yourself daydreaming about her, fantasising about being together (and NOT just in a sexual sense), in short, if you think you are or have already, fallen for her, then my advice is do a quick U-turn before you end up permenantly in the 'friend zone'. By all means give her time to be single for a while. It's good to have space after being in a long term relationship, just don't wait too long. If/when you decide to take your relationship further, be relaxed about it. Pressure from someone she until recently considered a friend could be very off putting. Judging from the tone of your post, you don't seem like you're just after a cheap thrill. And I'm guessing you wouldnt be asking our opinions if she didnt mean that much to you (hey I could be wrong here!). So if this is the case, my advice is to (subtlely) go for it. That's what I need to hear. In this day and age, it seems like being more concerned about the girl than "getting some" seems out of place. Trust me, you did the right thing, even if it might not feel like it. You've just given her the *most important thing* that she could possibly have at that point, someone to trust in and to talk to. She may end up dating someone else, but hey, ya never know. As long as the thought of 'getting some' wasn't you're motivation, yes, I'd say you did the right thing.
