lol no Elecrtrum is just on the outside of the lightsaber and means only a high wise jedi master on the senior council and use it. Electrum let's you make purple. Normal crystals can give you blue, yellow, green or orange, depending on the form of the crystal and the way they're set(angle) Red can be only received with synthetic crystals, those that Sith use. When such a crystal is made, a Sith touches it with the force, shaping it to his own will. Although in the StarWars Visual Dictionary, it says "lightsaber crystals cannot be sythesized", The Episode II Visial Dictionary says that the crystals used in red sith sabers are in fact sythetic. That is why they sound different. The blades are also not as hot as normal sabers, seeing as the hotter the blade, the less it hurts. That's why when Obi-Wan slices Dr.Estevan's arm off in the cantina, it leaves a bloody stump. Ben's power cell is running low, making the saber not as hot, thus not cotterizing the wound. _______________ "If you hold back anything, I'll kill you.
