Sup, This page is a good, example someone trying to make WAY to make correlations between a movie, and everything else. http://episode81.blogspot.com/ Does have some cool info though. _______________ Silent Bob (Kevin Smith): You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. But they don't all bring you lasagna at work. Most of 'em just cheat on you. -Steve (Obi) |

all i can say is.....whoa _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. Is it because he was a whiney farm boy from some backwater hack planet? No, it's because he was a FREAKING JEDI. He could block lasers with his lightsaber. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs. He got his @$$ zapped by lightning from the geezer Emperor, stood up and said "s'at all you got b!tc#??" |

Quality stuff...I actually agree with much of it...lol. Damn, degrees really screw with your sense of what is over-analysing ![]() One thing I noticed that the site didn't seem to (sad loser, Khalek... ![]() Nevertheless, he is one of the only three knights to even glimpse it (Galahad pwns ![]() The idea that sight can lead us astray runs throughout the Matrix...remember, Alice then looks THROUGH the looking glass..and this si also a recurrent religious theme...Oedipus blinds himself with a pin upon learning the truth of his crimes, and to look upon a God is to be struck mad, or dead, in greek mythology as a whole (cf Zeus revealing himself in a goden shower). Hell, the 'sight is truly blinding' idea is even used in Baldur's Gate II - with the cult of the eyeless... ![]() BTW - when they mention Jospeh Campbell's work, they are referring to 'The Hero with a Thousand Faces.' For film studies application, Christopher Vogler's 'The Hero's Journey' is what they seem to have been using - although they misattribute it. Vogler's work is more useful in this case, as Campbell doesn't really consider how alternate theisms fit into possible storylines....but Mr Campbell is one of the source of MANY of the themes in the Matrix Trilogy...or Trinity, as would be more appropriate. ![]() _______________ Brother to HW and Kyp Durron, padawan of the almiiiighty NFF. Traitor to the family and keeper of the LOLlipops (poisoned and otherwise). Jello's unwanted second cousin. Vladarion's moral lesser ![]() http://www.crazyfray.co.uk/home.htm - major update coming soon, yeah right.... £3.00 to be pledged so far to the JA fund... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

it's a lot of interpretation, just as long as they don't make a big deal about it, no one really cares _______________ When you are told something for years, you learn to accept it. But, after the truth is revealed, you feel conufusion, isolation, and depression. Then you ask, where do I belong? I'm searching for that answer. |
