In Dallas for my friends wedding and I have been doing some reading on this new thing Microsoft has codenamed 'Longhorn'. My first reaction was something along the lines of: "Floating objects, all XML based, WTF?!?"  Anyone else have any observation/insight here?!?!? _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. Sup, Well Microsoft proving they are dumber than I thought, decided to write longhorn from scratch. Seriously, XP was just getting decent, it had a decent load time, the most configurgable Interface so far, etc. Anyone wanna bet how many bugs are going to come with the 1st release?????? It uses a 2d desktop enviornamnt that's build in directx so the GPU can start taking the load and free your CPU to do other things. Longhorn is going to be loaded with Palladium, DRM, and various other tools that are meant to keep computing creativity down. Anyone who mentions Longhorn in a positive light should immediately be labeled a puppet of the man and have their social status lowered to somwhere between a cockroach and a ball of lint. Longhorn is the new OS from microsoft. Longhorn is its code name (XP's was windows whistler) but its real name will be Windows FX. It will have a 3d desktop environment! _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world |
