I've had the remark from Steven, one of the students here, that I suck up a lot Has anyone EVER saw me sucking up excessivly? Defining the term "sucking up" Let me think how to explain that  Yeah, saying things like you're great, you're fabulous and so on... What is wrong with learning new skills in Jedi Knight so I get a compliment? Nothing either To the third one, about helping someone who is new in the game, there is nothing wrong. BUT: If you answer to all of 'em, don't you think there will be people saying: "Trying to impress someone?" To the fourth, nothing wrong either, but still the same answer as above. To all of these I would answer nothing, and I would do them asmuch as I could, I voted yes, sometimes, but only for a good laugh And please, don't be sorry you voted no, because it's the point ppl vote no you see, I received an insult, and I wanted ppl's opinions on that, that's all And you say you haven't seen your brother much, well... I can say the same to Squibit and Roan We will need to see eachother more often Drop me a line when you're on and I'll try to be on too! I don't bite, and I usually can be on any time you want So don't be afraid to drop me a line or something like that Anyway... Could you define the term "Sucking up" According to my handy dictionary ... "To suck up to someone means to do things to please them in order to obtain praise or approval." I ask you what is wrong with practsing/learning new skills in Jedi knight in order for your master (in my honoured case the wise, supreem, excellant, amazin.... Fizz) In order for them to say , Hey yeah, well done you did good? Or what is wrong with helping someone new to the game in the hopes that they will become more inline with your skills in the future, and so become a dueling partner / friend. What is wrong in trying to post an informed oppinion on any thread and attempting to enlighten others in order for your superiors (fizz , Ulic and other great belouves) to congratulate your ability to make suitable and amicable responses to comments. To all of these I would answer nothing, and I would do them asmuch as I could, According to the dictionary , I Suck up . But I do not see that as a bad thing ... I voted no as I have actualy/surpringly/Unfortunatly not seen My brother Bail that much . And to add my last comment: I stepped down as Knight because I was always being so helpful, and I got a great following that I/The Belouves were "elitist". I'm gonna seal this off in private. But, only public comment here, is that Bail brought it up in public, I answered in public. Also, I don't feel that it's a bad idea for him to help, just that some peopl will find that he is unable to help. Believe me, SOME people hate those that are only trying to help, no matter who they are. They have problems. I was merely saying that by his always jumping in to help, he may inadvertantly (key: INADVERTANTLY) make matters worse, or, well, they think he is just trying to impress someone. See? I merely TRIED to help, but ended up making things worse. So, you can see how I may have some value in being right. That is just my observation. If someone thinks he is sucking up, well, I can SEE why they MIGHT think that, but then, they'd have problems. It's sort of the "By being so helpful, who are you trying to impress?" Bail, you're not trying to impress anyone, we know that. Me, I'm proud of any Belouve, as well as proud of others. I was just saying that perhaps by being so helpful, you can be PERCIEVED as trying to impress someone. But, I said I will wrap it up in private. Well, Ulic, when I first commented, the word Kazaa was still there, and he didn't understand what was wrong with saying he's got programs off kazaa All I said was that most people don't support downloading software of kazaa or something like that, I believe And I never say I have the ability to help! As THE ORIGINAL Belouve, I'll just comment because you brought it up: You DO seem to jump into things without thinking them through all they way. Some of your comments seem like you mind is only half there. One example (I don't recall where)... A guy got a program off of Kazaa. He said "Yeah, I just use Kazaa and get <name of program>." After that, people told him to edit his post, so the word "Kazaa" was removed. Yet you posted shortly after, using the word "Kazaa", which sorta diminishes the point of him editing his post to please others. An instance of not really seeing the whole picture. As for sucking up, I wouldn't say you suck up, as much as you always seem to portray that you have the ability to help. Belive it or not, we only PLAY Jedi. We are not powerful enough to assist in all of the difficulties around here. It's great that you lend support, but realistically, you probably cannot help as much as you say you can, and you end up trying to make yourself look "nice" and "helpful", but will eventually fail to deliver and just be full of "promising words". So I'd say, to curtail this, take better care of what you say. You're not here to aid everyone in everything. Find your talents, find that which you can realistically aid in, and give you support in that area. That's what I mean by asking the Belouves to "find their focus". I don't know the first thing about using a staff in JK3, so I won't even pretend to be able to help teach. So I stay out of it. See what I mean? As a final note, as a superior/master to you, I will never directly call you out on anything in front of others. For being honest and pointing to that which may be a flaw, I apologize. Yet, you did bring the item up first. I often leave those that are of future generations of Belouves to find things on their own. If they (or you) are ever stuck, just ask and I will help. But again, I can't solve everything. I can only portray what I see. So, well, hope this helps you out. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace.
