Is There a Dark side?

Vergere claims that there is no dark side, that the force is one. How people use the force and their intentions when using it is light or dark, but the force itself is not. Do you believe it? I personally do not because if were true, then the prophecy of bringing the force into balance would never have had a purpose, and that just doesn't make sense. Your thoughts please.

I do not ask for your poor, or your hungry, I do not want your tired and sick, It is your corrupt I claim, It is your evil that will be sought by me, With every breath, I shall hunt them down, Each day, I will spill their blood, till it rains down from the skies.
Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal, These are principles which every man of every faith can embrace, These are not polite suggestions, these are cores of behavior, And those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost.
There are varying degrees of evil, I am a due lesser form of filth, not to push the bounds and cross over into true corruption, into our domain, For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see me, And on that day, you will reap it, And I will send you to whatever god you wish.

"Well, in the Star Wars universe, I believe that there has to be a dark and a light side to follow the tradition of Good vs. Evil.
But in real life, good and evil are much more abstract. For instance, if I kill someone, that's bad. But perhaps the police were after him and he was on death row for killing a family or something.
Is that good or bad? It's all a matter of perspective. Good and evil are things that human beings have created (especially the Christian churches) to control people. There is not right and wrong, only nature.
Right and wrong are decided by you."

Well, this is a very interressting Theory. In fact, there were only MADE interpretations of "good and evil" by the People themself.

Who says that "this" or "that" is bad/good ?
You had learned from your parents and your community. Who says thats right?

I don't think many people think about who has given "the rules".

In fact, you're going to have to try very hard to stay alive Nick.
Now do you understand everything that I have said? Because if you don't, I'll kill you!"

We've had many discussions on this already. Its not so much the debate of "is there a dark side of the Force" but "what is the dark side of the Force" Vergere says that the sides of the Force are within the people not from without. And this theory really does make sense. Most "Darksiders" are in if for themselves. They want all the power and all the glory for themselves. They're selfish. And they are using that power for themself, corrupting themself. Look at Mara Jade, she served the Emperor but she never really seems to be all that tainted by the Dark side. She wasn't using her power for herself. She did it in service to someone else.

The other reason Vergere uses this theory is because of anger. Anger is an emotion many species have in star wars and its a natural reaction. The Jedi are taught to not do anything in anger and never get angry. For young Jedi this is a very good idea since when they are angered they may be quick to tap into uncontrollable raw Force power. Its like comparing riding a bike and driving a car. You don't teach a kid who learned to ride a bike yesterday how to drive a car today. But what about a Jedi Master? Is he never allowed to become angry? You can be mad and not go on a massive destruction spree. And what if your angry because all of your friends are about to be slaughtered? Wouldn't you be angry? Wouldn't you want to react? You shouldn't tear every bad guy limb from limb with the Force but what about using it as a massive shockwave to knock out all of them?

The idea of there being no darkside of the force doesn't mean that you are allowed to go out doing whatever you want using whatever powers and abilities you want. You need to know why and what you are doing still.
