Besides Tolkien I mean. Everyone's read him, but is anyone in here a real "fantasy" guy..er, person? Someone who knows Robert Jordan or Gaiman or Simmons or Martin and the like? Just wondering, seeing as this is a kinda sci-fi site, and the two genre's come together alot. Glad to know there are some of us out there. WoT people, do you ever get on Wotmania? Oh, a good fantasy read for anyone looking right now is Stephen King's Dark Tower series. And No, it's not like his other books. In fact, most of it is pretty normal as far as fantasy books go. Anyway, for a little diversion from the norm, try this one out. The Scorpion by Stephen D. Sullivan, and no its not about bugs it said "fantasy" in the section i got it, so i assume it is really good book if u like samurai or that kind of stuff _______________ if at first you dont succeed, try and try again. if you still dont succeed, youve just wasted a whole lot of time trying something you just cant do

Back in the day, I used to read a lot, and it was mostly fantasy. The most memorable for me were: The Shanarra series (with Tanis, Raistlin, Cameron, etc.) The Rift War series by Raymond Feist There was one small book, I guess it was a bit more Sci-Fi, that was called Armor. The main character was named Felix and it was kinda like Aliens or Starship Troopers(with big ugly aliens) I haven't picked up a book to read in YEARS!!! I would suggest the "Wizard of Earthsea" cycle by Lynn Reed Banks. It's much more humble than LOTR.
