 OMG OMG OMG mkay well heres the scoop, my folks soooo proud of the initiative me and my fiancee took to plan our wedding decided to help things so it doesnt interfere with life, by marrying in may we were cutting things dangerously close to finals. so they secretly as a surprise bought the invites we had picked bought the wedding dress i was like OMG I WANT IT but its too expensive OMG I GOT IT they also SENT OUT THE INVITES TO THE PPL WE HAD LISTED Aparently sent out B4 New Years on them was a mssg NOT TO MENTION THE DATE CHANGE so 2 days ago my folks say they dont aprove of the wedding on my birthday their reason: IT WOULD MAKE THE ONE ON VALENTINES A WASTE!!!!!! I'm happy for you and all but if you really want opinions then I'd have to say stay engaged for a while. I was engaged at that age as well. Your going out into the world, your gonna experience new things, find new interests, and develope new habbits. The 2 of you are also gonna mature together, but also in different ways. College is a VERY different place compared to HS. You'll expereince a lot there. I guess my point is: Wait a while before you actually get married. Keep yourself open to new things. You got really luky, in my opinion its the guy thats making a mistake(no offence to u plz read on) cuz u 2 off to coledge where its very lots of new ppl. If his whole intire life till this point he didnt meet anyone he loves but u he might meet some 1 in colege. So just make sure he doesnt see any girls and study hard in coledge. May 7th is my girlfriends birthday too. She means the world to me, and if you love your boyfriend as much as i love my girlfriend then im in no doubt your doing the right thing. Pay no attention to anyone who 'rains on your parade' cause they probably dont know how you feel, and if you think your doing the right thing, then it will all work out good. (Im a trained Psychologist and counselor)Let me tell you, more marraiges break up that are based on a really long period of time spent knowing eachother before deciding on marriage. For example my girlfriends parents met at 16, were married by the time they were 18 and are still very happily married.
