Yeah. I saw the Blue Stars. Once. As a figure collector. I've always liked a very shiny, black-armored stormtrooper, no helmet. It'd be nice. I might do this in free time. I think it would be fun. Also, something I might actually come more to doing: Cardboard+glue+duct tape+paint+plexiglass= Action-figure sized model of the Academy. I could do it. I have built BOATS out of cardboard, and raced them, no problem (over 10 boats built). So...yeah, I might do it. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. A guy with whom I used to work was an avid Star Wars figure collector as a kid. He used to have a figure called a "blue star." What happened was, a Turkish company copied the Hoth snowtrooper figure to manufacture bootleg knockoffs. The first time they fired up the machines, though, somebody screwed up and put the wrong resin, a blue rather than white plastic. They made about a thousand (IIRC) before somebody realized the mistake and stopped the line. They weren't just going to discard the ones they had already made though, so they called them "blue stars" and sold them as-is. The guy I worked with got his hands on one. Years later he sold it _and_bought_a_car_ with the money! I think you could make a stormtrooper with articulated limbs. One way would be to make it in two stages: First make a single-piece model. Then cut off the limbs and make a second mold with the appropriate joints. Even better would be to disassemble the original figure and cast the pieces seperately, but I have never seen one come apart without breaking (my original Luke's head came off when I was a child, and I almost cried). I sent this link to my wife, and she also replied that some people have way to much free time. Hrm...good idea to know how to make molds for stuff. I wanted molds for Star Wars things.... Hmmm.....replicate storm troopers, paint them basic, and they won't have articulation, but DAMN could you fill up a whole landing bay with them. My death star scene is seeing complention now.
