from what I heard of ep3, its gonna be fantastic. but I remember reading somewhere that lucas was gonna do 7-9. personally I hope he doesn't. there won't be ep7-9 cuz Luke (and Han, but mostly look) look O-L-D (oh, leia too). Plus, we don't want them to spoil the reputation. Ep4-6 we great although 1-2 weren't. The Courtship of Princess Leia was not Episode 7. NONE of the Expanded Universe novels are books of Episode 7 8 or 9. The games are good. But until they come out with a game that gives you TOTAL control over your character, The games will never totally add up to me. I can understand Lucas not wanting to do SW anymore. BUT....If I was him I would take SW much further, or at least 3 more Ep. SW. has shown us the fall of the Jedi, I think the story should continue with the rebuilding of the Jedi. If not Ep.7,8,and 9, then the Jedi Academy books, or something along that line. The story can go so much further. If lucas really decides not to carry on with SW then I think he should help direct other film makers that present a story worthy enough to be added to the SW films. Just as long as they don't run it into the ground. But I don't think lucas would let that happen, nor would a true SW fan be willing to. I hope to do something with SW when I get my degree. Well WAAAAAY back, when EP 6 was not too long away from theaters, the rumor mill had said that Lucas had originaly written 12 EP's. As of now though Lucas states that he will be done with SW after EP 3. His reasoning is that a trilogy takes 10 years to do and he doesn't want to spend his remaining years on SW. I forgot what he said he wanted to do though. |

I hope it doesn't. If it does come anyone hoping that he'll just take what is in the expanded universe is delusional. Even thinking it will be set at a point after the current EU timeline probably wouldn't happen. He would more than likely make his own crappy kiddy movies again and stomp on 90% of what is considered Expanded Universe "canon". Just disappointing more fans than the lukewarm response some have given to the prequels. Look now, people are dreading Episode 3 for fear of it being bad. What if it is and he decides to continue it on? You'll just have more dread for the next set of movies coming along. Or What if Episode 3 is great and he makes Episode 7 and it completely sucks?
