we have to stop using the Master term in the JA..... ok but seriously now. I agree with Buzz. I know a few people with backgrounds/parents from that time and they have no problems with it at all. I think the only people that get offended by this are the people who are looking to get offended. They want to have something to complain and raise an issue about. I mean why don't we just make the words slave and master illegal to use on anything or even speak them. When I hear slave and master being used about technology I don't think about the historical meaning of them. C'mon! People shouldn't moan and groan over computer terms that were used since muliple HDs came out! Of course racism is to be condeemed, but I can't see any offensiveness in those terms. It takes quite a bit for me to take offense in stuff like that, terminologies which are harmless to me, so it might just be me. |
